Butterfly Birthday Card with Sunday Stamps Sketch #240

One of my friends who loves butterflies will be celebrating her birthday in November.  When I saw the "Butterfly Kisses and Birthday Wishes" sentiment stamp from the Close to my Heart Creativity in Motion special promotion I knew I would use it to make a card.  Rather than stamp butterflies on the card I remembered that I had older paper with a butterfly pattern (Dotty for You--retired CTMH).

The edges of the  Scalloped Circle Thin Cut frame were colored with a Blue Turquoise Tri Blend Marker.  The coral colored stripes and hearts are from Coral Shimmer Trim (retired CTMH).  The stitched butterfly centers were embellished with Icicles Stickles Glitter Glue.

Here is the fabulous Sunday Stamps Sketch that inspired my card layout:

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:

Masculine Birthday Card with Fusion Card Challenge Sketch and Seize the Birthday

I really liked the simplicity of the current Fusion Card Challenge Sketch so I combined it with Aurora Paper, Sage Card Stock, Sapphire Ink, Sentiments by Melissa Esplin stamp and Stitched Together Cardmaking and Thin Cuts.  This was a really quick card to make!

Here is the fabulous Fusion Card Challenge sketch that inspired my card layout:

My choice of background paper was influenced by this Seize the Birthday graphic:

If you don't look at the balloons or pastel colors this graphic reminds me of a nebula or galaxy drawing so I took out the Aurora paper for the background.

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:
     Dragonfly Dreams--Birthday
Incy Wincy Designs--Funny or Let's Celebrate

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

Today I'm sharing a congratulations card for a special young lady made following the current Sketch Saturday sketch.  The rosy background paper is retired from Close to My Heart "La Vie En Rose".  I used my Cricut to draw the Emmy Award. The small stamps are from "30 Years of Happy" and "You Amaze Me"--also retired from Close to My Heart.  The focal panel is backed with a scrap from a sheet of holographic poster paper from my stash.

Bridal Shower Card with Freshly Made Sketch #453

My Cricut was dusted off and used in creating this bridal shower card for my stepdaughter.

The background card stock is Close to My Heart's new color of the year Blue Belle.  A holographic paper by Colorbok is the background of the doily and diamond.  A purple metallic cricut pen wrote the sentiment.  If you would like to replicate the card you can go here.

My card layout was inspired by this fabulous Freshly Made Sketch #453:

September Joyful Stars Blog Hop with Bloom and Grace Paper

Welcome back to another Joyful Stars Blog Hop! We are a group of Close to My Heart consultants who share something each month on the 9th and at 9PM EST. If you are coming from Joyce Gough's blog you are on the right track. (The complete lineup is on Joyce's blog in case you get lost.) Have fun being inspired!

Close to my Heart has a new annual catalog and a new seasonal catalog that have just been released.  I have been having so much fun playing with the new Bloom and Grace sunflower patterned paper. (Sunflowers always remind me of my mom who used to decorate her kitchen and bathroom with that theme.) I made a flurry of cards and would love to know which ones you like best.

Card #1:

The dotted stripe is from the zip strip.  The sentiment is from Sentiments by Melissa Esplin with Espresso Ink.  I used an Earth Brown Tri-Blend marker to outline the sentiment panel.

Card #2:

The background patterned paper is from Lovely paper.  The fussy cut sunflowers were embellished with Lemonade Shimmer Brush and Toffee Shimmer Brush.  My card layout was inspired by a recent Global Designs Project sketch.

Card #3:

The sentiment is from Every Little Thing Cardmaking with Thin Cut Dies embossed in Copper Tinsel Embossing Powder and matted with Espresso Card Stock.  The center stripe is retired Copper Shimmer Trim.  I'm entering this card into the CAS Colours and Sketches challenge #387 which can be found here.

Card #4:

The sentiment is from Birthday Greetings and was stamped in Toffee Ink. Once again I used the Earth Brown Tri-Blend Marker to edge each of the paper pieces which are mounted on Fern Card Stock.  My card layout was inspired by this Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch #474:

That's all for now with this beautiful paper!  Please leave me a comment with your favorite card noted.

Now it's time to head over to Joyce Hauck's blog --I'm sure you'll be inspired by what she has to share.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!
