Daisy Themed Thank You Card with Atlantic Hearts Sketch #537

Welcome back to another Atlantic HeartsSketch Challenge blog post!  This week our sketch features a background panel with a grid, various inner elements and a sentiment panel.  My card background grid was cut with an older Close to my Heart Stitched Rectangle Frame Thin Cut die which had 12 squares.  I cut some of the cross pieces to create a similar grid to our challenge graphic.  The small daisy stamp came from the Friendship Daisy stamp set.  The sentiment is from "You Got This" stamp set (Close to my Heart--about 5 years old) and the center panel is a piece of recycled ribbon.

Here is our fabulous sketch that inspired my card layout and for you to try.  Our challenge is open until Sunday evening, August 13 and you can link up your project here.  We look forward to visiting your blogs and leaving some bloggy comment love. Please stop by our blog on Wednesday to see what the rest of the talented Design Team has to inspire you.

I’m also entering this card into the following challenges:

      Retro Rubber # 212--Anything Goes

      Use Your Stuff #290--Recycle, Upcycle

      Krafty Chicks #675--Use Stamps

Through the Purple Haze--July Tic-Tac-Toe (diagonal--ribbon, stamp, floral)

Birthday Card with Stella Says Sketch #907

Sometimes I like to take out very old patterned papers to play with.  The background papers in this card are from Moonstruck Background & Texture Papers from the late 1990's and the contrasting yellow is Lemon.   The sentiment and candles were stamped in Sapphire Ink and are from the Close to My Heart retired stamp set called "So Many Candles" cardmaking set.  The flames were made with English Mustard Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Here is the fabulous Stella Says Sketch Challenge Graphic that inspired my card creation:

Quick Cards for July Joyful Stars Blog Hop

Welcome back to another Joyful Stars Blog Hop! We are a group of Close to My Heart consultants who share something each month on the 9th and at 9PM EST. If you are coming from Debi Brile's blog you are on the right track. (The complete lineup is on Joyce's blog in case you get lost.) Have fun being inspired!

This month I've created a few cards using new Thin Cut Dies from the current Seasonal Expressions catalog (ends August 31) called It's Your Day and A Big Thank You.  These dies are 3.75" x 5" to fill up an A2 card base quite nicely.  It is so quick to make cards with these fabulous Thin Cut Dies!

My first card was created with the current challenge colors (Mink, Bashful and Pacifica) from Color My Heart Color Dare which is celebrating it's 300th challenge featuring Close to My Heart colors.  (A Mystery Box of CTMH products is being offered as a prize so check out the requirements here).  Bashful Shimmer Brush was added to the candle flames for a bit of sparkle.

This next card was made with New England Ivy card stock (soon to be retired color) and patterned paper from Fresh Air Paper Pack (available through August 31).  Although it's difficult to see I applied the Gold Shimmer Brush to the candle flames.

I remembered that I had some Nuvo Crystal Drops in my stash and applied them to the candle flames.

This next card uses Lemon Card Stock, Pacifica Card Stock  and a Cranberry Card Stock strip.  (Cranberry and Pacifica are among my favorite colors but they will be retired at the end of August.) The Clear Shimmer Brush was used inside the heart for a bit of sparkle.

Now head on over to Michelle Loncar's blog.  I'm sure you'll be inspired by her project!

I'm also entering these cards into the following challenges:
Heart 2 Heart--Anything Goes with CTMH products
Seize the Birthday--Option to use Sequins

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!
:) Marie

Color Dare #232 Meets Sketch Saturday #451

Welcome back to another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge blog post!  It's a four color challenge this week--use all and only these exclusive Close to My Heart colors:  Fern, Sapphire, White Daisy and Lemon.  As usual if you don't have these CTMH colors yet you may substitute similar colors so you can still join in on the fun!

I really love how these colors look together and ended up with 2 fun cards made with the Happy Birthday Thin Cut.  First I ran a 4.25" x 5.5" piece of White Daisy through my Xyron machine and then placed strips of Fern, Lemon and Sapphire right onto the adhesive.  Next I lined up the Happy Birthday Thin Cuts and used small pieces of washi tape to lightly adhere it to the striped panel before running it through the Big Shot machine.  I also cut the sentiment out of thin craft foam to pop up the sentiment on the first card.  The small confetti stamp from the Wise Guy Birthday card was stamped in Lemon over the white background.  I added some Blue and Green Epoxy Bubbles and White Sequins from Calypso sequins to the card fronts for finishing.

Here are close up pictures so you can see the sparkly Clear Shimmer Brush on the sentiments.

Close to My Heart products used:
     White Daisy CS
     Fern CS
     Lemon CS
     Sapphire CS
     Happy Birthday Thin Cuts

     Clear Shimmer Brush
Green and Blue Epoxy Bubbles (retired)
     Calypso Sequins (retired)
