Paradise Palms Congratulations Card with Atlantic Hearts Sketch #611

Welcome back to another Atlantic HeartsSketch Challenge blog post!  This week our sketch features a vertical layout with matted layers and an oval frame with embellishments and sentiment.  I created this Congratulations card for a male friend of mine who recently retired.  The palm trees and sand came from a retired Stampin Up set called "Paradise Palms" and the oval was cut from an older Recollections 6 x 6 called "Color Splash."  The background mat is Peacock CS and a gold Cricut pen was used for the inner frame. The gold embossed sentiment is from Close to my Heart "Many Congratulations".

Here is our fabulous sketch that inspired my card layout and for you to try.  Our challenge is open until Sunday evening, January 12 and you can link up your project here.  We look forward to visiting your blogs and leaving some bloggy comment love. Numbered Birthday Card with Freshly Made Sketch #525

Our friend Neil will be celebrating a milestone birthday this week so I made him a card based on Freshly Made Sketch #525.

The sparkly hexagon background paper is You Are Enough from Close to my Heart and Glacier and Peacock cardstocks form the mats for the Honey Bee Buzzword dies.  The Rose Gold Foil cardstock came from Recollections.  The balloons are from Party Balloons and the numbers are from Junior Varsity Alphabet.  The ink is recently retired Peacock with Polysparkle Tinsel Embossing Powder.

Here is another photo to show off the sparkle in this masculine card.

Sympathy Card with Freshly Made Sketch #479

There are many colors from the Close to my Heart palette that I rarely use so I decided to use "Desert Rose" as my background color.  I consulted the "Love of Color" book to find a color that would coordinate with it and found "Peacock".  The greeting is from a retired stamp set called "Words of Comfort" and was stamped in Peacock Ink, Versamark Ink and Clear Embossed on Pebble Card Stock.  The coordinating ribbon is Peacock Dots and is also retired.  The Desert Rose Card Stock was dry embossed with a Darice "Daisies" embossing folder.

Here is the fabulous Freshly Made Sketch #479 graphic that inspired my card layout:

Although I've been "collecting" alcohol inks for quite awhile I finally took them out to play with the other evening.  Here is the first card I've made with one of these beautiful panels following the Tuesday Morning Sketch #598.  The background mats are Peacock and Lagoon card stocks and the greeting is from "Winged Masterpiece" and stamped in Versamark Ink, Lagoon ink and Polysparkle Tinsel embossing powder.

This was just one of the many alcohol inked card panels that I made a few days ago:

Howdy Neighbors Congrats Card with Stella Says Sketch #905

One of my best friends just got a new job so it was a perfect opportunity to create a fun card for her.  Her favorite color is pink so I used Flamingo ink with Flamingo Card Stock with Black accents.  The pink plaid paper came from Blue Skies paper pack. The stamps came from Howdy Neighbors stamp set.  The bold "congrats" sentiment was embossed by inking in Versamark and Black ink before applying Clear Embossing Powder.

This is the fabulous Stella Says Sketch #905 that inspired my card layout:

Color Dare #396 Meets Fusion Card Challenge

I really like the Mix-In Color Palette from Color My Heart Color Dare #396 so I created a second card for the challenge.  I'm still enjoying playing with Through Thick and Thin stamp set (retired May 2020) so it was used to make a fun birthday card based on the Fusion Card Challenge sketch.

The challenge colors I used are Linen, Peacock, Peach and Mint.  The birthday sentiment is from Birthday Greetings.  The patterned background paper is from Sweet Girl (retired CTMH).  The Mint Shimmer Brush was used to color the Mint toilet paper rolls.

Here is the Color Dare Mix-In Color Palette challenge graphic that inspired my card:

Masculine Cards With Freshly Made Sketch #416

I love the simplicity of Freshly Made Sketch #416 and made a couple of masculine cards with the  sketch. My first card uses Urban paper and retired Card Captions stamp set.  (I had previously posted a floral card with this sketch here.)

This next card uses retired Avonlea paper with Peacock and Fern Card Stock and Card Captions.

Which card do you like better?

Quick Birthday Cards with Monstrous Halloween for September Joyful Stars Blog Hop

Welcome back to another Joyful Stars Blog Hop! We are a group of Close to My Heart consultants who share something each month on the 9th and at 9PM EST. If you are coming from Betty Locco's blog you are on the right track. (The complete lineup is on Joyce's blog in case you get lost.) Have fun being inspired!

I haven't received my new items from the new Close to My Heart catalogs yet so I looked in my online business account and found that the Monstrous Halloween stamps and Thin Cuts from last year are still available.  It has cute little monsters and this fabulous birthday greeting.  I used the Love of Color book to choose some coordinating colors.

Here are two cards with the same layout with a different arrangement of colors (Sage, Peacock, Carolina and White Daisy):

Which card do you like better?

My card layout was inspired by this Mojo Monday sketche that was rotated 90 degrees.

I'm also entering these cards into the following challenges:

Paper Hug Card with Case This Sketch #326

When I saw this week's Case This Sketch challenge I immediately thought of using an older Close to My Heart stamp set called "Swirls Around" as the background flourish.  The cricut cut oval is from the Lacy Labels cartridge and the sentiment stamp is from a retired CTMH stamp set called "True Love".

The paper color is Sugarplum and the stamps were inked with Peacock Ink.  Don't you love how great these two colors look together?  I cut an oval from white craft foam to "pop up" the oval frame.

Here is the fabulous Case This Sketch #326 that inspired my card layout:

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:
     Sparkles Forum #117--No Patterned Paper
Aud Sentiments Challenge #229--Anything Goes & Sentiment

Zoe Birthday Cards with Atlantic Hearts Sketch #315

Close to My Heart recently brought back their retired paper pack Zoe last month and it is available until the end of May.  I just love the Glacier argyle pattern and am using it once again with these two cards.  (Other cards made with this special paper can be seen here, here and here).Contrasting card stock stripes are Glacier and Peacock.  In the first card the top corner embellishments are Peacock dots from the retired Documented embellishments and the ribbon is White and Gold Ribbon.  The sentiment is from the retired Belated Birthday stamp set and was stamped in Peacock Ink.

The second card uses recently retired So Much Happy sequins and Glacier and White Ribbon.

Which card do you like better?

There is still plenty of time to enter this week's Atlantic Hearts Challenge:

     Sweet Stampers--Birthday
