Case This Sketch #167 in Yellows

This card was inspired by Case This Sketch #167.  I really liked this sketch and made several cards which will be posted separately.

The banner colors from top to bottom are Canary, Honey and Saffron.  The floral accents were stamped in Versamark ink and clear embossed on Canary, Honey and Saffron cardstocks.  A sponge dauber was used to apply Fern ink to give the flowers some definition and then they were fussy cut with microtip scissors.  A dot of White Opal Liquid Pearls was applied to create the flower centers.

Watercolor Class Day #2 Homework

The Online Card Class Watercolor class is really fun yet I'm a little behind in my "homework".   Lesson #2 was about more background watercolor techniques.  I started this card last week with the Color Dare #93 colors and just finished it today.  I used 4 Close To My Heart ink pads for the watercolors.  First I placed an acrylic block onto the ink pad and then misted with water and used a brush to paint on the colors.

Close To My Heart products used:
    Cranberry Ink
    Twilight Ink
    Honey Ink
    Juniper Ink
    Friendship Alphabet stamps (retired)
    True Teal CS (retired)
    Metallic paper (DOTS retired)
    3D Foam Tape

Other products used:
    Watercolor paper by Faber Castell
    Stazon Teal Ink
    Studio G star punch
Perfect Pearls Heirloom Gold Mist spray by Ranger

As this is a special birthday card for a dear friend I'm also entering it into Seize the Birthday.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

Color Dare #93--Honey, Cranberry, Juniper, Twilight With Watercoloring

Welcome back to another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge post!  This week we are daring you to combine all four of these Close To My Heart colors in your project.  (Of course close color substitutions are allowed if you don't have the assigned colors).

Since I recently enrolled in the Online Card Classes Watercoloring class my card reflects that.  The top banner was made by clear embossing the floral stamp from In the Background onto watercolor paper.  Then I used a narrow acrylic block pressed into the inkpad and then spritzed with water to stamp on the paper.  I did this several times with all the challenge colors and I like how it came out.

    Cranberry CS
    Black CS
    Twilight CS
    Honey Ink
   Cranberry Ink
   Juniper Ink
   Twilight Ink
   1 x 4 acrylic block
Enjoy the Little things stamp set (Hostess only set)
   In the Background Stamps
   3D Foam Tape
   Clear Embossing Powder (retired)

Other:
   Watercolor paper by Faber Castell
   Versamark Ink
   Prismacolor pencil

Color Dare #47--Just Honey With Emboss Resist Technique

This week at Color My Heart Color Dare the challenge is to make a card featuring the Close To My Heart color Honey.  You may add neutrals such as black, white, chocolate, cocoa and bamboo but the only "color" of the card should be Honey (or similar color if you don't have it).  I used Versamark ink and Clear Detail Embossing Powder to stamp the two images from Beautiful Friendship in opposite corners. Next I applied Honey ink using a sponge dauber and the embossed area remained white.  The greeting is from Casual Expressions and was stamped in Black ink.  The tied ribbon is Color Ready Seam Binding which is white.  Once again I used my sponge dauber to apply Honey ink over a craft mat.  I just rubbed it on--it was really easy to do.  This White Daisy panel was then mounted onto Honey CS.  The final accents on this card are  Opaque Licorice Adhesive Gems.

Now head on over to Color My Heart Color Dare and check out what the rest of the fabulous design team has created.  We hope you can join in on the fun!  Just link your papercrafted creation up by Thursday evening, June 20 at 9PM CST.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!
