Foiled Bugaboo Bug Jar Thank You Card

Last Friday's Freebie over at Bugaboo stamps is a delightful image called "Bug Jar".  I decided to pair it with the Bugaboo sketch also.  Since it is a digital image and I printed it with a Laser printer I was able to use my Minc Machine to foil the image and then colored it in with Prismacolor pencils.


Here is a photo taken from a different angle so you can see how shiny teal the image really is.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #255--St. Patrick's Day

Welcome back to another Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog post!  We have another easy sketch to inspire your creativity.  I swapped out the floral element for a 3 layered shamrock for my take on the sketch.

Make Waves Valentine for February Joyful Stars Blog Hop

Welcome back to another Joyful Stars Blog Hop! We are a group of Close to My Heart consultants who share something each month on the 9th and at 9PM EST. Valentine's Day is next week so I've been making lots of different valentine cards for special friends and family.  This time I went to the latest Close to My Heart cartridge "You Are Here" and paired it with the gorgeous Make Waves paper.


The oval was cut with the retired Art Philosophy cartridge and the Thistle striped ribbon and purple glitter gems are also from CTMH but retired.  The pink paper is Pixie card stock and the green paper is Emerald.

My card layout was inspired by this lovely Tuesday Morning Sketch:

From the Heart Meets CAS Colours and Sketches #241

From the Heart is a special promotion from Close to My Heart to celebrate National Stamping Month.  The complete set comes with a set of gold foiled die cut pieces to make 10 interactive stand-up cards and lovely floral and large sentiment stamps.


I needed to make a get well card for a friend so I chose the above sentiment stamp and combined it with the color challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches.  My Close to My Heart Color Substitutions are Emerald, Pacifica and Pansy.

Color Dare #252 Meets Your Next Stamp #68

Golf Themed Get Well Card for Atlantic Hearts Sketch #211

Welcome back to another Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge blog post!  We have another fabulous sketch for you to try this week!


When I first saw the sketch, I thought of using flowers but then I remembered that I wanted to make a get well card for a golf buddy who just broke his ankle and I changed the flowers to golf balls and the flower stems to golf tees.  Thinking "outside the box", wouldn't you agree?


The scalloped circle was cut in Design Space using the Elegant Edges cartridge.  The golf tees were from an image I had uploaded.

Color Throwdown #434 Meets Case This Sketch #212

Being part Irish I do send out some St. Patrick's Day cards to certain family members and this is the fourth St. Patrick's Day card I've posted so far.  My card started with the Case This Sketch #212 and the colors from the Color Throwdown--green, gold, black with neutrals.  I started with the basic card and then kept adding embellishments:

Added some tiny pearls for the sequin centers:
