Foiled Bugaboo Bug Jar Thank You Card

Last Friday's Freebie over at Bugaboo stamps is a delightful image called "Bug Jar".  I decided to pair it with the Bugaboo sketch also.  Since it is a digital image and I printed it with a Laser printer I was able to use my Minc Machine to foil the image and then colored it in with Prismacolor pencils.

Here is a photo taken from a different angle so you can see how shiny teal the image really is.

A Florence Friendship Card for Joyful Stars Blog Hop

Welcome back to the April Joyful Stars Blog Hop!  We are a group of Close to My Heart consultants who share something each month on the 9th and at 9PM EST.  If you are coming from Crystal's blog you are on the right track. (The complete lineup is also on Joyce's blog in case you get lost.)  Have fun being inspired!

My card features Close to My Heart Florence paper and A Bunch of Love stamp.  Recently I came upon a tip for creating dimension using craft foam (instead of pieces of foam tape) demonstrated by Jennifer Mcguire which was so easy to do using the A Bunch of Love Thin Cut Die.  The stripes and banners are from the top strip of the Florence paper. I love how they create a colorful accent to the card.

Recently I needed to make more sympathy cards so I took out the new "A Bunch of Love" stamp set and coordinating Thin Cuts from the Seasonal Expressions 2 catalog.  I curved the word "Condolences" from the Sincere Expressions stamp set on an acrylic block so it would nearly fit into the banner.

     Sincere Expressions stamp
     Slate Ink

     Fern Ink
     Slate Ink
A Bunch of Love stamp and Thin Cut
     Sincere Expressions stamp
     Chalks (retired)
     3D Foam Tape
     Artbooking cartridge for overlay background

Card #3:

     Whisper CS
     White Daisy CS
     Peacock CS
     Happy Times stamps
     Peacock Ink
     Goldrush Ink
     Sincere Expressions stamp
Art Philosophy cartridge for scalloped oval frame
     Artistry cartridge for banner

Which one do you like best?

Golfer Snowman With Freshly Made Sketch #217

I'm still enjoying using my new Golfer Snowman stamp by DRS Design and Freshly Made Sketches #217 provided the perfect sketch to feature this wonderful image.

The embossed background was made with a Cuttlebug Snowflake folder.  After I made this first card I just kept trying out different holiday colored prints behind him. (Recollections Holiday Prints purchased on clearance several years ago.)

The silver matted layer is also from a clearance pack of Recollections paper called Silver and Gold Cardstock.  I used Prismacolor pencils for the coloring.  I didn't want to hide any of the snowman image with a sentiment strip so I solved the problem with vellum.  Happy Holidays greeting is from Close to My Heart.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

Best Witches for Try Stampin' on Tuesday #142 and Use it Tuesdays Challenge #66

Happy Halloween! Here is a card made with all retired products from Close To My Heart.  I just love it when I can use of some of my vast stash! (a requirement for Use It Tuesday is to use your stash!) The stamped cat on the jack o' lantern is from an old wooden set called "Punkin' Patch" and the greeting is from another wooden set called "Best Witches".  Patterned papers are from the Hooligans and Spellbound paper packets.  Coloring was done with Prismacolor pencils (formerly carried by CTMH).  The stars and jack o' lantern mouth and nose were glittered with Glow in the Dark glitter glue.  The focal frames were cut from Art Philosophy--Square 3 at 3" and 3.25" from Black.  I used a steel pan scrubber and Gypsy ink to texturize the White Daisy CS.

This card follows the Try Stampin' on Tuesdays sketch #142 which is pictured here:

I'm also entering this card into the Use it Tuesdays Challenge #62 featuring "Creatures".  Please stop by tomorrow for a new Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge post.

Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!
:) Marie
