Pixie Sparkles Stitched Flowers with The Paper Players Sketch #542

This is my first attempt at using a new (to me) product called Pixie Sparkles.  They are somewhat like Brushos and Color Bursts powders but they are also shimmery and have some texture to them.

Here is another view so you can see how sparkly the flower is:

I dropped some Teal Marine and Fuchsia Rose powders onto wet cardstock to create a color panel from which I cut out out the Stitched Flower Thin Cut Dies (retired Close to my Heart).  The background frame is Tropical Blue along with the patterned paper (retired Close to my Heart).  The contrasting strip and ink is Raspberry (retired Close to my Heart).  I chose these papers as they seemed to be a good match to the colors in the flower diecut.  The stamp sentiment is from Sending You Hugs Cardmaking Workshop available until 5/31.

This is the fabulous The Paper Players Sketch that inspired my card layout:

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:                              Seize the Birthday--Topping Option--Make it a Bouquet                      AAA Birthday--Happy Birthday                                                            Crafting Happiness Challenge--Color It                                                Make My Monday #149--Floral Birthday                                            Dragonfly Dreams--Add Some Sparkle                                                Crafters Cafe #266--Feminine

Milestone Birthday with Freshly Made Sketch #483

My sister's mother-in-law turns 90 on Thursday so I made her a one of a kind card in bright, cheery colors (Tropical Blue, Green Apple, Flamingo) following the Freshly Made Sketch #483.

The stamp sets used are "Wordfetti," "Friendship Alphabet" and "Some Kind of Wonderful".  The background panel was spritzed with Turquoise Gloss Spray and the numbers were gold embossed.

Here is the fabulous Freshly Made Sketch that inspired my card layout:

Four Color Challenge at Sunday Stamps

Welcome back to another Sunday Stamps Challenge post!  This week we have 4 lovely colors for you to create with:
Generic colors: Turquoise, Pink, White & Grey
SU Colors: Pink Pirouette, Tempting Turquoise, Smoky Slate & Whisper White
CTMH Colors: Blush, White Daisy, Whisper, Tropical Blue (retired)

My card features an old CTMH wooden rose stamp in Blush ink used for the background,  Ritzy Ribbon stamped in Tropical Blue ink (retired CTMH) and Friendly Thoughts stamped in Black on both White Daisy and Whisper CS. I used an old SU border punch on the Tropical Blue horizontal piece and a small heart punch for the accents which was layered over Blush CS.  Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel was used on the hearts and on the Blush marker colored roses.

The inspiration from my card came from the challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch #161:

We can't wait to see what you create using only these colors!   Please use a direct link to join us here and include a link back to us in your blog post.  (Feel free to post our color graphic too to let your readers know about our challenge.)  You have until Friday, April 11 at 6PM EST to enter this challenge.  Make sure you have fun with this challenge!

Artbooking in August #3--Mini-album

Welcome back to Artbooking in August Week #3!

If you are coming from Pam Ellison's blog you are on the right track.
Remember this is a circular blog hop and if you get lost or confused along the way, the list is posted on Adeline's blog here.

Last week I shared cards and the week before that I shared a giftable item.  This week I'm sharing a mini-album made for my dear friend Laurie as a birthday gift.  I used some retired CTMH colors (Tropical Blue and Heavenly Blue) as I know that they are favorite colors for her.  Other papers used are the brand new Sarita and Gypsy.

My project is called a Travel Mini-Album and it is 8" x 8".  Lots of photos!

Thanks for looking at all these pages.  If you want to see the Artbooking pages I used read on.  If not, please go to Shalana Glass' blog now to continue with the blog hop.

I used pages 38 and 39 of the Artbooking Handbook for the pages and overlays.

I used page 40 for "My Favorite Photos" title.

I used page 42 for journaling page--overlay.

I used page 52 for the "paradise" title.

I used page 63 for filmstrip mat.

I used page 67 for the word "vacation".

I used page 78 for photo mats and "2 of a Kind" icon.

If you are with me this long thank you!  Please go visit Shalana Glass' blog for more great Artbooking ideas.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!  (Don't forget to stop by next week for the 4th week of Artbooking in August.)
