Zoe Meets Freshly Made Sketch #385

Freshly Made Sketch has another fabulous sketch to try and I'm happy with how it looks with Close to My Heart's Zoe paper.  Both the polka dot strip and stamped butterfly use the limited time only Zoe paper (available through April 30).  The butterfly is from Butterfly Friendship.  The background card stock is Sorbet.

Here is the wonderful Freshly Made Sketch that inspired my card layout:

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:

Color Dare #251 With Freshly Made Sketch #295

Welcome back to another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge blog post!  This week we are challenging you to combine all and only these exclusive Close to My Heart colors:  Sorbet, Lemon, Juniper, White Daisy, Black and Gold.  Of course if you don't have these exact CTMH colors yet you may substitute similar colors so you can still join in on the fun!

Using the wonderful sketch by Freshly Made Sketch #295 I created two cards with slight changes.  The flowers on the left card were sponged with Sorbet and Juniper inks while the flowers on the right were stamped with Memento Black Ink onto Sorbet and Juniper card stock.  Some extra ink was sponged around the Sorbet flower edges.

Here are close up photos of each card:

I would love to hear which one you like better.

Hello Lovely Thank You Card with Mojo Monday Sketch #487 and Blog Candy Alert

Have you ever witnessed a total stranger doing something remarkably kind?  This happened to me the other evening when I was out to dinner with my elderly friend Loretta.  Loretta saw a woman who needed some help getting out of her booth seat and went over to assist.  When it was time to get our check the waiter came over and said that there was a woman and child who were sitting in the back of the restaurant who had paid our check.  He showed us the receipt which said "Paid in full.  Thank you for helping others."  The woman and child had already left so we could not personally thank her.  However her name was on the credit card receipt and this lovely card will be mailed to her.

Here is a closeup of the sparkly embossing powder that I used on the sentiment and small heart:

Artistry Mason Jar Card for Joyful Stars Blog Hop

It's an exciting time to be a Close to My Heart consultant and be able to share some wonderful new products from the new Annual Inspirations catalog!  Joyful Stars is a group of CTMH consultants who share in a monthly blog hop.  If you are coming from Andrea Sherman's  blog you are on the right track.  (If you get "lost" along the way visit Joyce's blog for the complete lineup.)

My card features the new Zoe paper, Peacock CS and the mason jar and flowers cut from the new Artistry cricut cartridge.  (All of these products are available now!)  The jar lid was colored with the CTMH Silver Metallic Marker.

The Artistry cartridge comes with 3 stamp sets and a pack of Enchantment color palette cardstock which has 7 new colors!  Peacock is one of them.  It is also available in a digital version to save some money.

If you are interested in replicating this card and you have the Cricut Explore and the CTMH Artistry cartridge you can find the cut file here.

I used the Nacho Average Challenge Sketch #153 to make this card:

Your next stop on this blog hop is Stephanie Huber's blog.  I'm sure you'll be delighted with what you find there.

Artfully Sent Inlaid Card for Color Dare #138--Smoothie, Sunset, Canary, Juniper, Pear and White Daisy

Welcome back to another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge blog post!  This week we are inviting you to combine the following colors:  Smoothie, Sunset, Canary, Juniper, Pear and White Daisy.

My strategy for combining so many different colors is to use a lot of white space.  I made this card using the Artfully Sent cartridge.  I cut the pocket card on page 17 from 4 of the six challenge colors and then pieced them together so they lay flat.  The Pear flower centers were cut with various sized hole punches.  The greeting is from the Happy to Be Friends stamp set in Juniper ink.  Juniper Waxy Flax was wound around the card front to accentuate the greeting.

Please visit the Color My Heart Color Dare blog to check out what my fellow Design Team members have made to inspire you.  Hope you can take the challenge with us this week!

Color Dare #53--Gypsy, Blush and Sorbet with Artbooking Overlay

Welcome back to another Color My Heart Color Dare post!  We are into our second year of providing this challenge featuring Close To My Heart Colors.  (You may substitute with similar colors if you don't have the challenge colors).  Thanks, Sarah Stone, for your vision and hard work in creating and maintaining this creative outlet for Close To My Heart enthusiasts!

Close To My Heart has a new Idea Book coming out on August 1 and as a consultant I was able to acquire new products earlier.  I'm having so much fun using the new Artbooking cricut cartridge and the Laughing Lola Cardmaking kit!  The lattice overlay was cut from Gypsy CS at  5.5" (page 50 of Artbooking handbook-- Overlay button).  This is layered over Blush CS. The horizontal strip was scallop punched from Sorbet CS with our new Scallop punch. Purple Gems (from the Laughing Lola Cardmaking Kit) were applied within the scalloped edges.

I usually don't purchase the Cardmaking Kits but when I saw the stamp set that comes with this kit, I just had to get it.  I love, love, love the greeting;  "You can never have too much happy"--what an awesome motto to live by!  The Laughing Lola Cardmaking kit includes this stamp set, 15 cards and envelopes, 2 sheets of Laughing Lola paper, 2 sheets White Daisy, 1 sheet Outdoor Denim, 1 sheet Pear, 1 sheet Slate, 1 Whisper, Black & Silver, Baker's Twine (10 yards), 1 package of Purple Gems and Instructional Brochure--priced at $24.95--a great value!) Check out my website on or after August 1 to order these fabulous items.

The background rays were stamped in Sorbet ink. Most of the greeting was stamped in Blush ink and the bottom of it was stamped in Gypsy ink and glued over the top. The greeting label (an Artiste cut) was popped up with 3D Foam Tape.

Click on the above photo to be taken to the Color My Heart Color Dare blog to view what the rest of the Design Team and Guest Designer have to inspire you this week.  We hope you will play along with us this week.  There are two prizes to be won--Color Dare Diamond Award for the best entry of the week and a monthly prize (some type of craft supply) to be mailed to one lucky participant which is randomly selected from all the entries of the month.  So the more you play, the better chance you have of winning!

This is also the last call to apply to be on our Design Team--applications are due today, July 26, 2013. Check it out here.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!
:) Marie
