I love to support my Close To My Heart consultant friends. Brenda Rose and her team have just started a challenge to use a particular key from the Close To My Heart
Artiste or
Art Philosophy cricut cartridges to create a papercrafted item. Check it out
here. I knew that I wanted to participate in this but didn't want to use the obvious Birthday items so I challenged myself to use the diamond shape to create a card. Once I saw the
Inspired By #69 challenge I knew that I would use their colors for this card. I cut the diamond shape (accent 4 shift) from page 70 of the Artiste handbook at 1/2" from the following Close to My Heart cardstocks: Outdoor Denim, Sky, Cranberry, Blush, Sunset and Buttercup. To make it easier to lay the diamonds down evenly (virgo trait) I lightly drew pencil lines 1/2" apart and placed the points of the diamonds on the lines. Later on I erased those lines. The greeting is from "Say it in Style" (retired CTMH) stamped in Cranberry ink, mounted on Sky CS and popped up from the background with
3D Foam Tape.
Silver Glitz Glitter Gel was applied to the points of the diamonds. There is a mat of silver metallic paper (retired CTMH) on top of the Outdoor Denim background. Although it was time consuming to make this card I really like the way it turned out.
Here is the photo from Inspired By that influenced my choice of colors.
If you like to use Close To My Heart products I would like to encourage you to join in a weekly color challenge at Color My Heart Color Dare. This week's challenge is to use the CTMH color Juniper in a papercrafted item. (You may substitute a similar color if you don't have Juniper). Check it out

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

Wonderful card! Great take on the inspiration photo! Thanks for playing at Inspired By.
Great take on both challenges! I love the way you really challenged yourself to go outside the box and use the diamond! Way to rock our first challenge! Thanks for joining us at Rose Blossom Garden!

This is spectacular!!! I've been messing around with that shape and gave up! You hit it right on. Thanks so much for playing along in the Rose Garden .... your creativity and support are appreciated!
What a cool card. I love all the colors! Thanks for joining us at the Rose Blossom Garden.
Amazing color scheme!!! Love this idea, Marie! :) I keep putting off that challenge...gotta get busy!
I'm not sure which I like better: the card or that photo of the boots. Great way to bring two inspirations together in one place.
Marie!! I don't even know what to say!! As if the card for the RBG challenge wasn't enough, then you made the one for Color Dare, too! I am so glad that you joined in with us, and showed such a creative use of the Happy Birthday key! We are honored and hope that we see you again and again!! (If you are going to Convention this summer, would you please come and introduce yourself to me if you see me? I would love to meet you in person!)
So cool. I stared down that diamond, trying to figure out what it's for. Apparently it's for a wonderful rainbow, happy card. You're patient and creative beyond my understanding.
Great use of the colours in the Inspired By photo - love this card.

What a fabulous card! I was sitting with Brenda at a crop when we opened up the cartridge book to look at the cutout you used. I would never have thought to use it the way you did. What a great way to use two challenges. Thank you for stopping by and playing with us!
I really like how you spaced those diamonds. I never would have thought to do that. It looks great! Thank you for joining us at Rose Blossom garden and i can't wait to see what you create with the next challenge.
Congrats on making the Top #3 at the Rose Blossom Challenge blog. Your card is an inspiration!
What a unique take on the challenge! I love the colors and the graphic effect. So cheerful. I meant to comment earlier, but life got away from me. I can't wait to see what you come up with for the Mother's Day key!
