Birthday Card with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #633

Welcome back to another Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog post!  This week our sketch features a horizontal layout with an edged center panel, top left sentiment and lower right embellishment. My card features a piece of white lace cellophane (recycled from a floral delivery) over a navy piece of cardstock with a deckle edge cut.  The background color is Close to my Heart Glacier and the sentiment is from CTMH "Belated Birthday" stamp set.

Here is our fabulous sketch that inspired my card layout and for you to try.  Our challenge is open until Sunday evening, June 15 and you can link up your project here.  We look forward to visiting your blogs and leaving some bloggy comment love. Zoe Birthday Cards with Atlantic Hearts Sketch #315

Close to My Heart recently brought back their retired paper pack Zoe last month and it is available until the end of May.  I just love the Glacier argyle pattern and am using it once again with these two cards.  (Other cards made with this special paper can be seen here, here and here).Contrasting card stock stripes are Glacier and Peacock.  In the first card the top corner embellishments are Peacock dots from the retired Documented embellishments and the ribbon is White and Gold Ribbon.  The sentiment is from the retired Belated Birthday stamp set and was stamped in Peacock Ink.

The second card uses recently retired So Much Happy sequins and Glacier and White Ribbon.

Which card do you like better?

There is still plenty of time to enter this week's Atlantic Hearts Challenge:

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:
     Sweet Stampers--Birthday
The Crafting Challenge--Bows or polka dots
     International Art and Soul--Birthday

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

Monochromatic Watercolors

The "Can You Case It?" challenge blog has an interesting sketch this week and I used my new watercolor paints from Close to My Heart to make this card:

It needed some more sparkle so I added some sequins:

Which do you like better?

     Watercolor paints
      Metallic CS (retired)
      Belated Birthday
      Black Ink
      Versamark Ink
      Clear Detail Embossing Powder

Other products
     Sequins

Are you wondering what the object under Happy Birthday is?  It looks like a crown to me.  It was actually a boo boo which I decided to keep.  I had intended to stamp the word "belated" with a ^ but I put the acrylic stamp on the block backwards and got the "crown".  It works for me and hope it gave you all a good laugh!

Here is the sketch that inspired me:

CYCI#89

I'm also entering this into the Hiding in My Craft Room challenge to make something "Monochromatic".

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

Using My Stash for Atlantic Hearts Sketch #106

Welcome back to another Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge blog post!  This week's sketch has some interesting layers.  Cas-ual Fridays is celebrating their 4th birthday so I used their color scheme (Black, White, Turquoise and Orange).  My favorite turquoise paper is called "Tropical Blue" by Close to My Heart and was retired many years ago.

Close to My Heart products used:
     White Daisy CS
     Black CS
     Dotty for You paper (retired)
     Tropical Blue B & T paper (retired)
     Belated Birthday stamps
     Sunset Ink
     Black Ink
     3D Foam Tape

Other products:
    Ribbon--unknown source
    Frost Glitter Glue by Recollections

As I was making this card I was debating whether or not to add the black and white ribbon.  Here is a photo of my card before I added the ribbon:

My preference is the card with the ribbon?  Which one do you like better?

I'm also entering this card into the current Seize the Birthday challenge.

Below is the Atlantic Hearts Sketch #106 that I used to make this card.  We hope that you will find time to create with it and share it with us here.  The Design Team always does an amazing job so you should definitely check it out.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!
