Happy Times Birthday Card with Tuesday Morning Sketch #658

This week's simple sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches appealed to me (and I had some time to create). As I was going through my drawer of older patterned papers I came across this fun floral paper called "Happy Times" by Close to my Heart.  The older CTMH sentiment die was cut into a dotted glossy piece of cardstock from the back of an ornament tag sold at Michaels.  The gold strips are from a sheet of gold holographic poster board that I've had for years.

Here is the fabulous sketch that inspired my card layout:

Masculine Noble Peacock Papers with Atlantic Hearts Sketch #474

Welcome back to another Atlantic HeartsSketch Challenge blog post!  This week our sketch features a 3 vertical striped background over a mat with a central oval focal embellishment and embellishments.  I wanted to make a masculine card so I chose the embellishments to be stars not flowers and the bold colors of the Noble Peacock papers (Stampin' Up several years ago).  The gold mat was a recycled  envelope liner!

This second photo was shot from a different angle so that you can see how sparkly this paper is.

Here is our fabulous sketch that inspired my card layout and for you to try.  Our challenge is open until Sunday evening, May29 and you can link up your project here.  We look forward to visiting your blogs and leaving some bloggy comment love. Sparkling Hexagons with Atlantic Hearts Sketch #473

Welcome back to another Atlantic HeartsSketch Challenge blog post!  This week our sketch features a square card with a vertical strip of hexagons (or whatever other element you choose) matted with contrasting paper, a sentiment in the lower right corner, and some small embellishments.  My card uses Mix-in Paper from May-June, Stitched Square Frame Thin Cut Die, hexagon stamp from very old Close to my Heart set called "Wicked", Birthday Greetings Stamp, Capri Ink, Versamark Ink, Irridescent Embossing powder, Holographic Foil Paper with 1/8" paper punch.

This second card angle shows off the sparkling embossing powder better.

Just A Note Card with Atlantic Hearts Sketch #472

Welcome back to another Atlantic HeartsSketch Challenge blog post!  This week our sketch features a central matted vertical panel, a matted center panel for a sentiment with 2 smaller squares to the left side.  A tied bow is used as an embellishment.

My card uses last year's "You Are Enough" paper with Sapphire Card Stock mats and a greeting from Rustic Sign Sentiment.  A small sized Stitched Rectangle Frame was cut in half and placed to the side of the vertical piece.  I used an old Copper Tinsel Embossing Powder to stamp the sentiment.

Here is our fabulous sketch that inspired my card layout and for you to try.  Our challenge is open until Sunday evening, May 15 and you can link up your project here.  We look forward to visiting your blogs and leaving some bloggy comment love. Slimline Sunflower Birthday Card with Atlantic Hearts Sketch #471

Welcome back to another Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog post!  This week our sketch features a Slimline Card with 3 rectangular layers, a center strip, center circle element and small sentiments.  I used papers from "Sunset Fields" paper bloc from Recollections.  To reduce bulk on my card, I used a brown watercolor marker and a ruler to outline all of the rectangles.  The floral wreath was fussy cut from a tag included in the paper bloc.  The sentiment is from Alina Cuttle.

Here is our fabulous sketch that inspired my card layout and for you to try.  Our challenge is open until Sunday evening, May 7 and you can link up your project here.  We look forward to visiting your blogs and leaving some bloggy comment love.
