Upcycled Cards With Freshly Made Sketch #318

Happy New Year!  I really loved the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches last week and made some holiday cards (and actually sent them too!)  I had purchased several mini ornament frames from Michaels this year and found the packaging to be quite appealing so I decided to use pieces of them in my cards.  I also used the silver foil lining from a holiday card I received because it was just to pretty to discard.  Here are the pieces I reused in my creations:

Card #1--Core'dinations Sparkled Blue Cardstock and sketch rotated 90 degrees:

Case This Sketch #251

Just a few days before Christmas and I'm sharing a card I made following last week's Case This Sketch layout.  The stamped image is from the Close to My Heart October Stamp of the Month called Christmas Tunes.  The paper is from last year's Recollections Christmas assortment. A Gold Metallic marker was used to create a border card for this CAS style card and to paint in the star and tree lights.

Here is the Case This Sketch layout that inspired my card creation:

This House That Stamps Built Color Palette influenced my patterned paper choice:

Atlantic Hearts Sketch #243

Welcome back to another Atlantic Hearts Sketch #243.  I made this special card for my soon to be 19 year old niece.  The acetate butterfly decorated photo boards at her father's "Celebration of Life" memorial service in late September and purple was her dad's favorite color.

The glittery paper is from Core` dinations that I purchased at Joann's for just $.16 sheet (12 x 12) last week!  The stamp is from an old Inkadoo sentiment set.

Here is the fabulous Atlantic Hearts sketch I followed:

December Joyful Stars Blog Hop with You Are Here Christmas Tree

Welcome back to another Joyful Stars Blog Hop! We are a group of Close to My Heart consultants who share something each month on the 9th and at 9PM EST. If you are coming from Debi Brile's blog you are on the right track. (The complete lineup is on Joyce's blog in case you get lost.) Have fun being inspired!

My cards were made with the latest Close to My Heart cricut cartridge called "You Are Here".  After I made the first card with Peacock, Glacier and Silver Foil, I looked at my Cricut Mat and thought that I could use the Silver Foil pieces left there to create another card with inlaid pieces.  Then I cut out the tree again with Gold Foil and combined it with the leftover silver pieces and paper from the Silver and Gold paper packet.  The sentiments are from the Silver and Gold--Cardmaking stamp set.

Which one do you like better?  Please leave me a comment to let me know which one you like better and you just may win your favorite one.  I will use a "random draw" from all comments received by 12/17/17.

Now it's time to hop on over to Michelle Loncar's blog. I'm sure you'll be inspired by what she shares.

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:
      Three Amigos--Silver and Gold
      Heart 2 Heart--Silver and Gold
      Addicted to CAS #126--Sparkle
      Bitten by the Bug--Christmas Tree
Gem of a Challenge--Anything Goes                              Christmas
Sparkle and Glitter with Rick #8--Anything                 Goes--Optional Christmas

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

Atlantic Hearts #241--Congratulations Card

My nephew just completed Army Ranger "Air Assault" school so I made him this card using Atlantic Hearts Sketch #241.  The striped paper is Close to My Heart Adventure Fundamentals and the greeting is a very old Hero Arts Confetti Congratulations stamp.  Instead of using a bow (this is a Masculine card) I used a grouping of Sapphire and White Daisy punched stars with Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel (retired CTMH).

Here is the fabulous Atlantic Hearts Sketch that inspired my card design:

Today's card was created using some Close to My Heart Traditional Christmas colors:  New England Ivy, Cranberry, White Daisy and Gold.  The poinsettias were fussy cut from the Beary Christmas paper and the New England Ivy CS was texturized with the CTMH Buffalo Plaid embossing folder.  The Gold Shimmer Brush was used to frame the white squares.  The 3 cranberry dots were cut using a standard 1/4" hole punch and then embellished with Clear Shimmer Brush.  The Merry Christmas greeting is from the retired Artfully Sent Stamp collection and was gold embossed on Vellum.
