Atlantic Hearts Sketch #261 with Sneak Preview of Beautiful Friendship Paper

We have another great sketch for you to try at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge this week!  I used the large open panel to feature some beautiful paper (sneak preview of Close to My Heart Beautiful Friendship paper available May 1).

The Sapphire dotted paper is the flip side of the gorgeous floral paper.  This panel was matted with Smoothie Cardstock and Bashful Cardstock.  The thin stripes are Silver Foil Cardstock.  The "Thinking of You" greeting is from Thoughtful Bird stamp set and was Silver embossed.  It was a quick and easy card to make.

Here is the fabulous sketch that inspired my card:

Gimme Sugar Birthday Card

My youngest sister is celebrating a birthday on Friday the 13th and I'm sending her this lovely card made with Close to My Heart Gimme Sugar paper and Sunny Thoughts stamp set (March Stamp of the Month--now retired).

The hearts were die cut with CTMH Hearts Thin Cut Dies and then dipped in Versamark Ink and then embossed with Polysparkle Tinsel Embossing Powder (retired CTMH) to give it some sparkle.  The greeting was stamped in Raspberry Pigment Ink and also embossed with Polysparkle Tinsel Embossing Powder.  The gingham strip is from the Gimme Sugar paper pack also.

The inspiration for my card layout came from Case This Sketch #266:

I made a second card with the same materials but rotated it.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch #259 With Brushos and Twinkling H2O Paints

The Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge this week gives you a choice of country maps to feature in your project.  My card was made with my California sister in mind and I may actually send it to her!  I printed the greeting with my laser printer and used my Minc machine to apply gold foil to it.

The background panel was created with Ultramarine and Turquoise Brusho crystals.  The United States map was black embossed and then painted with Twinkling H2O paints (Razzleberry, Tanzanite and Blue Zircon) which have a wonderful shimmer to them which didn't photograph well.  The map panel is framed with Gold Metallic Foil and I drew a line on the map with a Gold Metallic Marker.

Here are some of the Atlantic Hearts Sketches that you can try this week:

You Are Here Birthday Camper for April Joyful Stars Blog Hop

Welcome back to another Joyful Stars Blog Hop! We are a group of Close to My Heart consultants who share something each month on the 9th and at 9PM EST. If you are coming from Debi Brile's blog you are on the right track. (The complete lineup is on Joyce's blog in case you get lost.) Have fun being inspired!

A friend of mine said she was going to surprise her friend celebrating a big birthday.  She told me that she liked camping and daisies so I combined those ideas to create this card.  The camper is from the latest Close to My Heart cartridge called You Are Here.  The trees are Peacock and Juniper, the camper is White Daisy, Glacier and Sapphire, the ground is Kraft and the sky is Sky (retired CTMH).  The tiny daisy stamp is from Adorable stamp set (retired CTMH) and the Birthday sentiment is from Belated Birthday (also retired CTMH).  I used Peacock ink on the birthday greeting and Memento Black ink on the daisies.  The daisy centers were colored in with a Golden Yellow Shin Han Touch marker.  The camper was popped up with 3D Foam Tape.

Now head on over to Andrea Sherman's blog.  I'm sure you'll be inspired by her project!

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:
HeARTful Stamping--Anything Goes plus a stamp (daisy)
     A Gem of a Challenge--Female Birthday with  a Sentiment

Color Dare #285--Blossom, Bashful and Silver Option

This week's Color My Heart Color Dare challenge features the Close to My Heart colors Blossom and Bashful with an option of Silver.  Feel free to add White Daisy and Black but please don't add any new colors.  Of course if you don't have these CTMH colors yet you may substitute similar colors so you can still join in on the fun.

What fun it was to play with Silver Metallic Foil!  Although it looks like black in this first photo it is very shiny and pretty.  The teapot is from the Flower Market cricut cartridge and the heart border die is from Close to My Heart.  There are two heart border dies in this set and I used the cutout hearts as accents above the teapot.  My card layout was inspired by a sketch in Make it From Your Heart Volume 4. The background paper is from Adventure Paper Fundamentals over Blossom card stock.  The teapot base and accent strip are Bashful card stock. I deliberately left a sentiment off this card to save for a later date.

Here is another view so you can see how shiny the bottom heart border is.  The outline of the teapot is also Silver Metallic but just didn't photograph well.

Foiled Bugaboo Bug Jar Thank You Card

Last Friday's Freebie over at Bugaboo stamps is a delightful image called "Bug Jar".  I decided to pair it with the Bugaboo sketch also.  Since it is a digital image and I printed it with a Laser printer I was able to use my Minc Machine to foil the image and then colored it in with Prismacolor pencils.

Here is a photo taken from a different angle so you can see how shiny teal the image really is.
