Dynamic Duos #3, Play Date Cafe and CAS FTL 191 Challenges

I love the sketch provided by Clean and Simple Stamping FTL 191 and am combining it with a new color challenge that I recently discovered at Dynamic Duos. This is the third color challenge being offered by this site and the challenge is to use only the colors black, white and yellow and combine it with a dry embossing technique. The Play Date Cafe Challenge is using the same colors so I may as well enter that challenge also! I used Close To My Heart Sunny Yellow, Black, and White Daisy cardstocks along with Black embossing powder. The greeting is from A1121 A Blossom and the medallion is from B1400 Beautiful Friendship (trimmed down so it would fit in the sketch better) The white background was dry embossed with the "Distressed Stripes" cuttlebug folder. I adhered a piece of wall seam tape to the black panel and then applied CTMH Bonding Memories Glue and Prisma Glitter. The sunny yellow edges were sponged with black ink and a clear sparkle was added to the medallion which was popped up with 3D foam tape. My card:

Clean and Simple Sketch Challenge FTL 174

I love the look of clean and simple cards and this week I found time to make and enter a card. All products used are by Close To My Heart including Fanfare paper along with Cranberry, Pacifica, Sunny Yellow and White Daisy. The card sets are D1475 Card Chatter--Birthday and C1483 Harvest Happiness. I used the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge to cut out the scalloped ovals. Here is the card which I rotated to suit my vision:

My Rock the Block Challenge--Day 5

I'm using 2 new stamps from the Rock the Block special January promotion. You can view the rest of the stamps in the set here. I love the two background stamps that come in this set! I used Blush ink for the fishnet background and swirl and Chocolate ink on the greeting. The swirls are accented with CTMH Stardust Glitter Gel. "Thinking of you" is from D1476 Card Chatter--Sympathy which is a very versatile set. The accent stripe was made with Cranberry and Blush CS. This was an easy way to stamp without having to line up the pattern!

H2H New Year Challenge--Use an Unused Stamp

Congratulations to all those chosen to be designers at H2H! Thank you for your talents and commitment of time and energy to inspire the rest of us! This week's challenge is to use a stamp that you've never used before. The specifics can be found here. The stamp set I've chosen to feature is D1444 A Little Thanks--there are many of these stamps that I've not yet used so I was up for the challenge. (This stamp set is also being carried forward in the new Idea Book which is out on February 1.) I've used the small bouquet as a bottom border and the greeting as a focal point. I also used Rectangle 8 from the Art Philosophy cartridge to enhance the greeting. The colors are White Daisy, Cranberry and Pacifica. The edges of the white rectangle and pacifica rectangle were distressed with cranberry ink. Here is the card:

My Rock the Block Challenge--Day 2

I really like the corner floral stamp so I used it again for this Valentine's Day card. I used Cranberry Ink on Blush CS and carefully cut out the image. I used Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive as it has a thin nozzle and glued down the edges while placing the corner edge on the bottom. The love greeting is also from CTMH from the Card Commentary set(retired). I used a small piece of scrunched up plastic wrap and Blush ink to color the background with a faux marble appearance. To complete the card I cut a piece of gold speckled tulle, accordion folded it and used a twist tie to keep it together and then tucked it into the pocket.

Check out my previous post to see all the other stamps that are available in the Rock the Block January promotion from Close To My Heart.

Ruffled Lace, Clear Sparkles and a Clear Button for Card Pattern Sketch 87

I enjoy challenging myself to create cards to share on various stamping related blogsites. I have learned so much from others and I'm glad that I have the opportunity to pass on some good ideas.  This week the Card Pattern Sketch 87 looks like this:

My interpretation looks like this:

There is a fan looking corner stamp in the CTMH Triple Play stamp set which was stamped twice to make the half circle.  I stamped with Pacifica Ink on Lagoon cardstock (LOVE these 2 new colors!).   I also stamped on a small piece of Lagoon CS and used a circle punch to cut it out and attached it to the clear button using CTMH Bonding Memories Glue Pen which dries clear.  I looked through my shoebox full of ribbon and found this white irridescent ruffled lace which I attached using my sewing machine to Pacifica cardstock. Then I glued the Pacifica CS onto a White Daisy folded card. Last I took out my set of clear adhesive sparkles and stuck them on the card.  (When I went to photograph this card the sparkles appeared uneven and too bright so I used my scanner which created the shadow on the top left corner.)  Do you think I have too many sparkles or not enough?  Your comments are always appreciated.  Thanks for stopping by!
