Shimmery Thank You Cards With Case This Sketch #365

Case This Sketch #365 features an interesting card layout using 3 wonky background pieces.  I stacked up 3 different shimmery papers and cut slanted pieces on my paper cutter and then made 3 cards.  (I'm still making thank you wedding cards thus the sentiment and elegant papers).

Here are closeups:

Card #1:

Card #2:

Card #3:

Which card do you like best?

Here is the fabulous Case This Sketch #365 that inspired my card layout:

Looks like a fun sketch, doesn't it?  The challenge ends early Thursday morning if you want to play along.

I used papers from my stash:
    Recollections--Glitzy Glitter Paper Stack
    Recollections--Shimmer Silver paper

The navy and silver sentiment frames were cut from a folder given to me from a wedding venue.  The sentiment is a Cricut cut from the Close to my Heart Artiste cartridge.

I'm also entering these cards into the following challenges:
      AAA Cards--Made in Minutes
International Art and Soul--No Focal Image
    Creative Crafters Challenge--Anything Goes
    Stamplorations--CAS cards

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!
:) Marie

Color Dare Twisted Tic Tac Toe Meets Tuesday Morning Sketch #470

My friend Laurie just celebrated a milestone birthday which warranted a special card.  My colors were inspired by the current Color My Heart Color Dare Twisted Tic Tac Toe Challenge--to use 3 or more of the newly retired colors.  This card uses Crystal Blue, Pacifica and Cranberry cardstocks along with White Glitter paper.  The Cranberry panel was stamped in White Daisy Ink (and then clear embossed with Versamark Ink) with the new stamp set Love Notes.  The Crystal Blue heart doily is from the retired Artiste Cricut cartridge.

Here is the Color My Heart Color Dare color palette that I chose from:

This Color Dare challenge goes until Thursday evening September 20 and you can substitute similar colors if you don't have the exact Close to My Heart named colors yet.  Why not give it a try?

My card layout was inspired by this fabulous Tuesday Morning Sketch #470:

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:
Seize the Birthday--Use Die cuts or Punches
       Daisy Chain Challenges--Birthday
     House of Cards--Birthday Theme
     Cut It Up #156--Birthday

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

Artiste Popcorn Boxes as Personalized Ornament Holder Table Placeholders

I love coming up with new ideas for decorating for Christmas!  When I feel inspired I make unique personalized name placeholders for my Christmas party table. This year I made glittered ornaments and used a red paint pen to personalize them.  They needed something to keep them upright so I made popcorn boxes from Artiste in Ruby CS and used paint pens to make them look like Santa.  To keep them more stable I put some chocolate coins in the bottom of the box.  Guests get to keep the personalized ornaments also.

The backside of the ornaments were also personalized with the year.

Here is a photo of them on my table:

Close To My Heart products used:
     Ruby CS
     Artiste cartridge
     Prisma Glitter

Other products:

Artiste Cut Feathers for Color Dare #105

Welcome back to another Color My Heart Color Dare blog post where we challenge you to use Close To My Heart colors. We're looking ahead to Fall with this color scheme:  Sunset, Pear and Barn Red.

You must use all 3 of these colors in your papercrafted creation (it doesn't have to be a card!).  You may also combine your project with neutral colors such as white, black, greys, tans.  If you don't have CTMH colors yet you may substitute with a similar color.

Close To My Heart products used:
     Barn Red CS
     Sunset CS
     Pear CS
     White Daisy CS
     Black CS
     Artiste cartridge
     Artbooking cartridge
     Dot Embossing Folder
     Pear Ink
     Baker's Twine Paradise Assortment
Barn Red Ink and sponge dauber for feathers

The feathers were cut from White Daisy CS with the Artiste cricut cartridge.  (pg. 78 Accent 3 shift 1 at 2.75" and 2 at 2.5").  I then sponged Barn Red ink on the feathers.  Hello is found on page 39 of the Artbooking cricut cartridge book and was cut at .5".

The dotted embossed squares were colored by painting Pear ink (ink an acrylic block and then spritz with water) onto the negative area of the embossing folder.  Squares were cut out after the paper was embossed.

Check out what the fabulous Color My Heart Color Dare Design Team has to inspire you. You have until Thursday, August 14 at 9 PM CT to enter your papercrafted creation here.  We look forward to visiting your blogs and seeing what you create with the colors Sunset, Pear and Barn Red.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!
:) Marie
