Oh Happy Day with a Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch #150

Try Stampin' on Tuesday has a wonderful sketch this week and the twist is "polka dots".  I used a Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder for my dots.  The paper is retired Close To My Heart Claire.  The banner was cut with the Artiste cartridge and the coordinating stamp was used with Sunset ink.  Outdoor Denim CS was used as the paper mats and the greeting was popped up with 3D Foam Tape.

Here is the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch that inspired my card:

I'm sending this card to a young man who is quite an excellent golfer so I'm using a digital stamp by Darla as my "any shape" for the sketch.  The background papers are Close To My Heart Sarita with Lagoon CS and Outdoor Denim ink.  The Hello greeting is from the Artiste Cricut Collection and outlined with a White Uni-ball Signo pen.

Birthday Card with CAS(E) This Sketch #52

Here is a quick card I put together using CAS(E) This Sketch #52.  The cardstock is Close To My Heart Pacifica and the ink is Close To My Heart Indian Corn Blue.  The stamp is from the Cricut Artiste Collection and was trimmed to fit better on the card.   The embossing folder is from Goose Bumpz called Tide and was brayered with Indian Corn Blue Ink.  The greeting is popped up with 3D Foam Tape.

Gelato Stripes for Atlantic Hearts Sketch #28

Atlantic Hearts has another great sketch for us this week.  I was intrigued by the stripes and decided to use my new Gelatos once again.

This time I made colored stripes on watercolor paper and wet them with a paintbrush and layered it onto Black CS.  The greetings are from the Artiste Cricut Collection which has stamps to match the Cricut cuts-- they were stamped in Cranberry ink. The star embellishments are "Milepost Shapes" (recently retired from Close To My Heart).  Originally these stars are kraft colored however I gave them some color with the same Gelatos I used to create the background.  The birthday greetings and stars were popped up with 3D Foam Tape.  A pair of  Licorice Adhesive Gems adorn the Birthday Wishes banner. This was a fun challenge to undertake!

The challenge closes on Sunday, November 10.

Golf Theme Congrats Card for Freshly Made Sketches #105

If you are a golfer (or know one) you probably are aware that we want to someday "shoot our age".  That can be said to be an "advantage of aging".  My dear adopted uncle Bob shot 81 two weeks ago which is actually under his 82 years!  So I wanted to commemorate the occasion by making him a special card.  I followed the Freshly Made Sketch #105 to create this card.

I can't tell you who manufactured the golf ball or grass papers as they have been in my stash for quite awhile.  The other supplies I used are:  Ponderosa Pine CS, Metallic Gold CS (retired CTMH), Artiste Collection stamps, Versamark Ink, Gold Embossing Powder, Ponderosa Pine ink, 3D Foam Tape and some gold ribbon.

Here is a side view so you can see the card lining and raised pieces.

Another thing that I made for him was a bag tag. for his golf bag so he can be reminded of his special achievement.

There is still time to enter the Sunday Stamps color challenge.  We would love to have you play along with us there.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

"Penguin Power" Wintry Wishes for CAS Colour Sketches #40

Don't you love these adorable penguins?  They are from a new Hostess Reward Set by Close To My Heart called "Wintry Wishes" that you can see on page 9 of the new Idea Book.  The color challenge at CAS Colour and Sketches #40 is  a Double--color challenge AND sketch.  Here is my submission:

Here are the requirements:

My substituted colors are from Close To My Heart--White Daisy, Indian Corn Blue and Outdoor Denim which I think are an excellent match! The penguins were stamped with Outdoor Denim ink.   The Indian Corn Blue mats were cut from CTMH Artiste cartridge (pg.77 Accent 2 shift at 2.5").  The ear muffs and skate blades were accented with Platinum Liquid Pearls.  The hatband and pom pom were accented with White Liquid Pearls.  The snowflakes were accented with my favorite embellishment--Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel.

Here is a plug for the September National Stamping Month Promotion by Close To My Heart:.  Watch this short video to see what fabulous items are included.  Feel free to place an order from my website here.

January Stamp of the Month in Seize the Birthday #3 Challenge

This card was made for a special young lady who loves the color purple.  I used the Seize the Birthday #3 sketch and Close to My Heart's Happy Valentines Stamp of the Month for the focal image.  The card is 5 x 6.5".  The checkered background paper is Petal from the Winter Cozy Background & Texture Paper pack (retired CTMH).  The banner was cut using the Artiste cartridge (pg. 35, Accent 1 cut at 1.25") and stamped with the Happy Birthday stamp that comes with the Artiste collection so it matches the shape perfectly!  It was also colored with a Petal marker.  The centered white panel was dry embossed with the Divine Swirl embossing folder with my Cuttlebug machine.  The roses were stamped in Black ink and colored using Petal and Sweet Leaf markers.  As a finishing touch I used a fine point Martha Stewart Glue Writing Pen to outline the roses and then applied Prisma Glitter.  The Happy Birthday greeting on the banner also received the glue pen and prisma glitter treatment.

Here is the Seize the Birthday Sketch:

I'm also linking this card up to the Heart 2 Heart Challenge--all that glitters.

Freshly Made Sketch #53 Entry #2

If you haven't seen my previous post this week's Freshly Made Sketch #53 is here:

Card #2 is 6" square. The alternating stripes are from the Zip Strip of the Clementine pack and strips from the Florentine paper pack. The stripes were placed on a Creme Brulee background over black CS. The bottom layer is Clementine paper. Black Baker's Twine was placed under the black 3" circle. the greeting is Happy Birthday from 4 My Friend.

The circles were cut from CTMH Cricut Artiste cartridge and the greeting was embossed with Black embossing powder.

I can't decide which one I like better. Which one do you like better? Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog post!
Happy Creating!

All White Except a Stamped Image!

My Time to Craft's challenge this week is to make an all white card except for the image.  This idea really appealed to me so I cut many layers with my CTMH Artiste cricut cartridge. I used the Card function from page 63 to cut the flourished square at 2", 2.5", 3.0" and the negative piece that was cut at 3.5".  The featured stamp is from the new Casual Expressions Occasions set--a very versatile set!  (Most of the stamps in this set have a corresponding cricut Artiste cut.)  I first put my stamp in Versamark ink and then into Crystal Blue ink and then sprinkled clear embossing powder and heat set to give it a shiny appearance.  I also used a stylus to score the paper at 1/2" and 5/8" from each edge.  The top two layers are popped up with 3D mounting tape.  This is my first time entering this challenge and using the new Artiste cartridge made it so easy and fun to do!

Freshly Made Sketch #47 and Color My Heart Dare #11

Happy Birthday to nephew Brendan! I followed the sketch that I found here for this card using the colors from here. The Color My Heart Dare #11 is to use any or all of these exclusive Close To My Heart colors: Ruby, Goldrush, Honey, Sweet Leaf, Indian Corn Blue and Cocoa. This card uses all of them except Sweet Leaf or Cocoa. I also used my new CTMH Cricut Artiste cartridge to cut the numbers, gear shaped label and banner that matches the Hip-Hip-Hooray stamp that comes in this collection. A little bit of stardust glitter gel was applied to the gear label and numbers. I enjoyed working with this sketch:
Here is my card:
I really like how nicely these colors have come together--especially the Ruby and Indian Corn Blue colors. Thanks to the talented ladies that sponsor these challenges and for stopping by to look at my artwork.
