Penguin Holiday Card with Freshly Made Sketch #466

One of my sisters has always loved Penguins so I made her this fun card.  This large image seemed to fit the Freshly Made Sketch #466 very well so I used it to complete my card.

Here is another view taken from a different angle so you can see how sparkly the ice and dark water is.

This cute stamp has been in my stash since the late 1990's.  I had actually purchased it "rubber only" and then fixed it with a cushion to a wood block.  The sentiment stamp is from last year's Reindeer Crossing set from Close to my Heart and the paper colors are Sapphire and Linen.  I used a q-tip to color in the sun and sky with Canary and Sky ink colors (retired CTMH).  Moondust Stickles Glitter Gel was applied to the ice and Brutus Monroe Raven Black embossing powder was used.

Here is the fabulous Freshly Made Sketch that inspired my card layout:

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:
     Patti's Creations #177--Winter Fun
Color Dare Challenge #424--Non-Traditional Christmas Colors
     Simon Says Wednesday Challenge--Christmas Critters

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

Color Dare #396 Meets Fusion Card Challenge

I really like the Mix-In Color Palette from Color My Heart Color Dare #396 so I created a second card for the challenge.  I'm still enjoying playing with Through Thick and Thin stamp set (retired May 2020) so it was used to make a fun birthday card based on the Fusion Card Challenge sketch.

The challenge colors I used are Linen, Peacock, Peach and Mint.  The birthday sentiment is from Birthday Greetings.  The patterned background paper is from Sweet Girl (retired CTMH).  The Mint Shimmer Brush was used to color the Mint toilet paper rolls.

Here is the Color Dare Mix-In Color Palette challenge graphic that inspired my card:

Color Dare #286 Meets Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch #368

Welcome back to another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge post!  This fortnight we are challenging you to combine the following  Close to My Heart colors:  New England Ivy, Linen and Blossom with an option of adding silver or gold.  Black and White are free to use but please do not add additional colors.  Of course if you don't have these exact CTMH colors yet, you may substitute similar colors so you can still join in on the fun!  Our challenge is open until July 5 at 9PM EDT so you have almost 2 weeks to participate.  We award blog badges for challenge winners and have a random winner drawn monthly for some goodies in the mail.

My sister recently gave us a set of new beach chairs for our new vacation home so I thought it was appropriate to feature a beach chair as a focal image for this card.
