Treat Yourself for Color Dare #229

Welcome back to another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge blog post!  This week we are challenging you to use all and only these 5  exclusive Close to My Heart colors:  Silver, Black, White Daisy, Pansy and Raspberry.  (Of course, you may substitute similar colors if you don't have these CTMH colors yet so you can still join in on the fun!)

My best friend Arlene (and best customer) has quite a stash of CTMH stamps so I decided I'd play with her "Fluttering Frames" stamp set to make this card.  With every Seasonal Expression launch CTMH consultants can purchase small stamp sets called "Petite Perks" to reward their hostesses and customers as they choose. These are the sentiments on my card.

Close to My Heart products used:
     White Daisy CS
     Black CS
     Ranger Silver Embossing Powder
     Versamark Ink
     Fluttering Frames stamps (retired)
     Raspberry Ink
     Pansy Ink
     Petite Perks--Treat Yourself stamps
     Sponge Dauber

Just click on the Color Dare graphic to check out what the rest of the fabulous Design Team has to inspire you.  We would love to see what you create with just these 5 colors!

No automatic alt text available.

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:
Craft for the Craic--Something with 2--using 2               colors, not counting neutrals
     Creative Knockouts--Birthday Wishes
     Seize the Birthday--Optional Felt
     Inspiration Destination #121--Anything Goes
Crafting From the Heart #145--Anything Goes

I'd like to extend a special Thanks to all the gals at Paper Playful who keep me abreast of all the challenges offered in blogland every week.  They also feature Color My Heart Color Dare challenge every week!  If you haven't checked out their blog yet you should--it just might help you get your creative mojo going.

Case This Sketch #167 in Yellows

This card was inspired by Case This Sketch #167.  I really liked this sketch and made several cards which will be posted separately.

The banner colors from top to bottom are Canary, Honey and Saffron.  The floral accents were stamped in Versamark ink and clear embossed on Canary, Honey and Saffron cardstocks.  A sponge dauber was used to apply Fern ink to give the flowers some definition and then they were fussy cut with microtip scissors.  A dot of White Opal Liquid Pearls was applied to create the flower centers.

White Daisy and Whisper for Color Dare #130

Welcome back to another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge post!  This week we are challenging you to use just two colors:  White Daisy and Silver (or Whisper).  I decided to use the new Close to My Heart Scallop embossing folder to create my background.

How did I do this?  I applied Whisper ink pad directly to the folder and pressed down.  (I did NOT run it through the Cuttlebug machine).  As you can see I used both sides of the folder to create more interest.

Close to My Heart products used:
     Whisper CS
     White Daisy CS
You Mean the World to me stamp
     Whisper Ink
White Daisy Ink to edge Whisper frame
     Sponge Dauber
     3D Foam Tape
Scallop Embossing Folder (from Seasonal Expressions catalog)

Other
     Silver Holographic Curling Ribbon

Now it's your turn to create using these colors.

Head on over to the Color My Heart Color Dare blog and see what the rest of the fabulous Design Team has created.  Hope you can join us for this challenge.  Use a direct link to link up your papercrafted creation (it doesn't have to be a card).

Flourished Blessings with Clear Embossing Technique

Here are two cards that I made using a clear embossing technique over Splendor paper.  First I stamped the leaf image (D1379 Flourished Blessings) onto the patterned paper with Versamark Ink.  Next I applied CTMH Clear Embossing Powder and heat set with our craft heater. After that I used a sponge dauber with either Chocolate stamp pad or Topiary stamp pad to rub ink into the grooves of the stamped image and around the stamped image to provide contrast from the original paper print which shows in the leaf image.  The first card uses Colonial White as the base with Goldrush and Pansy Purple cardstock and Chocolate ink.  The second card uses Colonial White as the base with Garden Green and Autumn Terracotta cardstock and Topiary Ink.  Close To My Heart has such beautiful patterned papers that this technique can be used with--let your imagination run free with this easy yet stunning technique!
