Atlantic Hearts Sketch #239

Welcome back to another Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog post!  We would love to have you join us.  The United States Thanksgiving holiday is tomorrow so my card reflects that:

The sparkling pumpkin diecut was made with glitter paper from DCWV backed with New England Ivy CS.  The soft orange colored paper is Tangerine from the Adventure Fundamentals Paper Pack and the border paper is discontinued Barn Red.  The greeting was a very old Close to My Heart "woody" stamped in Barn Red ink.  The pumpkin banner was cut from the Cricut Thanksgiving cartridge and the side panel border was cut from the Bakery Fresh image from the Family Album Cricut cartridge.

Here is the fabulous Atlantic Hearts sketch I followed to make this card:

Our challenge runs until Sunday evening, November 26.  We look forward to visiting your blogs to see your lovely interpretation of this classic sketch.

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:
     Bitten by the Bug--Anything Thanksgiving
     Always Fun Challenges--Thanksgiving
     Cards in Envy--It's Only Paper
     Use Your Stuff--Thankful

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

It's Autumn at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog

Welcome back to another Fantabulous Cricut Challenge blog post where we love to share what we make with our Cricut cartridges!  The current theme is Autumn and I chose to use the Close to My Heart Artfully Sent cartridge to make this beauty:

     Artfully Sent cartridge
     Goldrush CS
     Champagne CS
     Barn Red CS (retired)
Vineyard Berry ink--sponged onto Goldrush CS (retired)

Other products:
Wings of Fire Rhinestones by Studio 18
     Gold Metallic marker by Cricut
The "tree with branches" card from Artfully Sent (pg.11 or #M10114D) was cut from both Champagne and Barn Red CS.  The Barn Red tree trunk was then placed inside the Champagne tree trunk and over the Goldrush CS which was lightly sponged with Vineyard Berry Ink.  I hand wrote the Happy Birthday greeting inside the Goldrush banner with the Metallic Gold Cricut pen.

Since this is a birthday card for my dear sister who loves everything Autumn I'm entering this card into the Seize the Birthday challenge.

We hope that you will visit the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog to see what the other fabulous Designers have made and share YOUR Autumn themed cricut project with us.  You have until Sunday October 25 at 11PM EDT to link up with us here.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

Artiste Cut Feathers for Color Dare #105

Welcome back to another Color My Heart Color Dare blog post where we challenge you to use Close To My Heart colors. We're looking ahead to Fall with this color scheme:  Sunset, Pear and Barn Red.

You must use all 3 of these colors in your papercrafted creation (it doesn't have to be a card!).  You may also combine your project with neutral colors such as white, black, greys, tans.  If you don't have CTMH colors yet you may substitute with a similar color.

Close To My Heart products used:
     Barn Red CS
     Sunset CS
     Pear CS
     White Daisy CS
     Black CS
     Artiste cartridge
     Artbooking cartridge
     Dot Embossing Folder
     Pear Ink
     Baker's Twine Paradise Assortment
Barn Red Ink and sponge dauber for feathers

The feathers were cut from White Daisy CS with the Artiste cricut cartridge.  (pg. 78 Accent 3 shift 1 at 2.75" and 2 at 2.5").  I then sponged Barn Red ink on the feathers.  Hello is found on page 39 of the Artbooking cricut cartridge book and was cut at .5".

The dotted embossed squares were colored by painting Pear ink (ink an acrylic block and then spritz with water) onto the negative area of the embossing folder.  Squares were cut out after the paper was embossed.

Check out what the fabulous Color My Heart Color Dare Design Team has to inspire you. You have until Thursday, August 14 at 9 PM CT to enter your papercrafted creation here.  We look forward to visiting your blogs and seeing what you create with the colors Sunset, Pear and Barn Red.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

Buzz and Bumble Bee Well for Tuesday Morning Sketches #253

This card is going to a young man in Queensland, Australia who will be undergoing brain surgery soon.  Since I will be mailing this a long distance I kept the "bulk" down by eliminating twine or ribbon and using an old paper punch to make a bow. I read about this request for cards here. Tuesday Morning Sketch # 253 provided the inspiration for me.

Close To My Heart products used:
    Buzz and Bumble paper (retired)
    Barn Red CS\
    Sunset CS
    Choolate CS
    Colonial White CS
    Bee Well Soon stamp  (retired)
    Barn Red Ink

Other products used:
   McGill bow punch
   3/8" round punch by Recollections

Happy Autumn Flowers in Barn Red for Color Dare #72

This card was made following the Atlantic Hearts Sketch #31 two weeks ago for this week's Color My Heart Color Dare.  I stamped the background flowers from Happy Autumn in Versamark ink and clear embossed over Champagne CS and then sponged with Barn Red Ink to give the details. The background mats are Barn Red CS.  The greeting stamp is A True Thank You.  Other accessories are Neutral Assortment Baker's Twine and 3D Foam Tape.

I'm also entering this card into a new blog challenge I found called Sarah Hurleys Challenges #87 which challenges us to "Create Your Own Background."

Stop by Friday morning for a new Color My Heart Color Dare post and on Sunday morning for a new color challenge for Sunday Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

Ombre Challenge for Heart 2 Heart

Welcome back to another Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog post where we feature Close To My Heart products!  We would love to have you join us in entering the "Ombre" challenge combining several shades of colors.  I chose a very simple yet effective way of doing this (easily repeatable and great for mass card production).

I started with cutting up 1" x 3.75" strips of Buttercup, Creme Brulee, Goldrush, Sunset and Autumn Terracotta.  Next I placed them over a contrasting piece of Barn Red CS and then over a Cashmere card base.  The ovals were cut with the Artiste cartridge (page 36) at 1.25" and 1.5" to coordinate with the greeting from Casual Expressions stamp set.  Happy Birthday was stamped in Barn Red Ink.
Before I adhered the Barn Red piece to the card I wrapped some Sunset Bakers' Twine around and tied a bow.  How did I get the bow to lie flat?--a mini-glue dot!

Now it's your turn to share your papercrafted creations..  Please use a direct link to enter this challenge here.  You don't have to use 100%  Close To My Heart products but we would love it if you did!  (If you don't use any CTMH products your entry will be deleted).  Since this is our last challenge of the month, you have until August 3 to submit your entries for any of the July challenges.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!
:) Marie
