Just a Note Card with Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch #490

Quite a while ago I created this lovely background with Local King Rubber's Ocean Waves background stamp and have finally put it to use in a card.  It was stamped in Sapphire Ink and Versamark Ink and Clear Embossed. It was sponged with Lagoon and Sky Inks.  I combined it with a very old wooden stamp set from Close to my Heart called Musical Medley, Sky cardstock and Sapphire cardstock. A White and Gold Ribbon separates the two panels as in the Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch.

Here is the fabulous Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch that inspired my card layout:

I'm also entering this card into Double Trouble #75 KAZOO-a-long (to add a musical element) which is partnering with TSOT this week.

This card also qualifies for Simon Says Wednesday challenge to "Make Your Own Background".  I'm also entering Aud Sentiments--Anything Goes.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

:) Marie

Zoe Birthday Cards with Atlantic Hearts Sketch #315

Close to My Heart recently brought back their retired paper pack Zoe last month and it is available until the end of May.  I just love the Glacier argyle pattern and am using it once again with these two cards.  (Other cards made with this special paper can be seen here, here and here).Contrasting card stock stripes are Glacier and Peacock.  In the first card the top corner embellishments are Peacock dots from the retired Documented embellishments and the ribbon is White and Gold Ribbon.  The sentiment is from the retired Belated Birthday stamp set and was stamped in Peacock Ink.

The second card uses recently retired So Much Happy sequins and Glacier and White Ribbon.

Which card do you like better?

There is still plenty of time to enter this week's Atlantic Hearts Challenge:

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:
     Sweet Stampers--Birthday
The Crafting Challenge--Bows or polka dots
     International Art and Soul--Birthday

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

Color Dare #230 Meets Mojo Monday #483

Welcome back to another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge blog post!  This week we are challenging you to create something using all and only the following exclusive Close to My Heart colors:  Pixie, Saffron, Whisper and White Daisy.  (Of course if you don't have these CTMH colors yet you may substitute similar colors so you can still join in on the fun!)  I must admit that I struggled with this challenge as Saffron is my least favorite CTMH yellow, but I minimized its presence on my card which I am satisfied with.

Close to My Heart products used:
     Pixie CS
     White Daisy CS
     Whisper CS
Flower Market Cricut cartridge--typewriter and                 circles
     Charming Cascades stamps
     Saffron Ink
Typed Note stamp set--retired (Happy Birthday)
     Vine Embossing folder
     White and Gold Ribbon
     Whimsy Paper Fundamentals--Dotted pattern
     3D Foam Tape

My card layout was inspired by this Mojo Monday sketch:

I'm also entering my card into the following challenges:

Dreamin' Big Dragonfly for Joyful Stars Blog Hop

Welcome back to the January Joyful Stars Blog Hop!  We are a group of Close to My Heart consultants who share something each month on the 9th and at 9PM EST.  If you are coming from Krista Hersheberger's blog you are on the right track. (The complete lineup is also on Joyce's blog in case you get lost.)  Have fun being inspired!

I started this card by creating the center panel with the "smooshing" technique.  Raspberry, Tangerine and Blossom inks were stamped onto a sheet of acetate and spritzed with water and then the paper was placed on the inky acetate.  The results are unpredictable and one of a kind creations.  The Dreamin' Big dragonfly was gold embossed onto Pansy CS.   Tiny pearls were placed onto the top set of wings.  Drops of Silver Glitz Glitter Gel and Pink Glitz Glitter Gel were put on the background panel.  The dragonfly Thin Cut die was used to cut out the butterfly and a piece of thin craft foam to give it some added dimension.

My usual creative process often starts with pairing the color challenge with a current sketch challenge.  I often consult the Paper Playful blog to find other challenges to inspire me.  This week I found the Crazy 4 Challenges blog in which you can use any of their sketches for the whole year.  I chose challenge #341.

I'm also entering my card into the Sunny Day Crafting challenge where it is always Anything Goes.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

Regatta Thank You Cards for Case This Sketch #159

Today's cards were inspired by Case This Sketch #159.  I used the beautiful Close to My Heart Regatta paper which has shades of blue in it.  After I embossed it with the Diamond embossing folder I added an Artbooking pocket card (modified in Design Space) cut in Pomegranate CS for the sentiment.  It was really quick and easy.

Here is the sketch I followed:

This next card has a Pomegranate strip on the side, white and gold ribbon and some gold sequins.

Which card do you like better?

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!
:) Marie
