Color Dare #254 Meets Kathy's Waffle Sketch File Littlle Lines Sketch

Welcome back to another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge blog post!  This week we are challenging you to use the colors from the Prickly Pear paper pack (White Daisy, Tangerine, Sorbet, Sea Glass, Sapphire, Poppy, Lemon, Emerald and Blossom).   Of course if you don't have these colors yet you may substitute similar colors so you can still join in on the fun.  This week there are 9 colors in the challenge but you can combine 4 or more of them without adding new colors to play along.  I really wanted a challenge so I did use all 9 colors and tried out a new water coloring technique (Watercolor Lifting with Heat Embossing) at the same time.

Here is a quick photo tutorial of how I created my multicolored panel:

Step 1:  From left to right using Poppy, Blossom, Tangerine, Sea Glass, Emerald and Sapphire Inks were painted onto wet Cold Pressed Watercolor Paper.  I used a heat tool to dry the paper.

Step 2:  Rose stamps from the Keep Dreaming stamp set were stamped in Versamark ink (I applied an "embossing buddy" onto entire surface first) and sprinkled with Ranger Fine Detail Clear Embossing Powder.

Step 3:  A heat tool was used to set the embossing powder.  (It's difficult to see the embossed areas here until more water is applied to take away some color).

Step 4:  Using a wet paintbrush paint over each stripe and dab with a paper towel.   Note that the clear embossed images are easier to see on the darker colors on the right side.

The last step was to cut this panel in to pieces to use in card making.

The accent flower was stamped in Sapphire ink, sponged with Lemon and Tangerine inks.  When the ink was dried I put the stamped flower directly onto Versamark ink and then sprinkled with Polysparkle Tinsel embossing powder, heat set and fussy cut.

Speedy Recovery and Tulips for Paper Play Sketch #47

One of my friends recently had a cardiac arrest and required treatment with a hospital stay.  I made this card for her using a Technique Tuesday Tulip stamp and greeting from Kiss it Better from Close to My Heart.

This photo was taken from a different angle so you can see how shimmery the Nuvo Glitter Markered tulips are:

Here is the Paper Play Sketch #47 that inspired my card layout:

Admittedly I took some "creative license" by placing my 3 enamel dots on the sentiment strip.  The patterned paper background is from Sunny Yellow B & T paper retired from Close to My Heart.  The Tulips were stamped in Memento Black Ink and colored in with Nuvo Glitter Markers.

I'm also sharing this card with the following challenges:
     Glitter 'N Sparkle--Summer Sunshine

     Cute Card Thursday--Anything Goes

Thinking of You Card for Case This Sketch #229

Case This Sketch #229 appealed to me so I used it to create this card:

Before I used the Direct to Paper inking technique with Distress Oxide inks, I used washi tape and Scotch Post it removable tape.

Next I just rubbed Spiced Marmalade, Worn Lipstick and Broken China Distress Oxide Inks.

After peeling the washi tape and post it note tape I stamped SU's Thoughts and Prayers tree stamp in CTMH Peacock Ink.  The greeting is retired from Close to My Heart 30 Years of Happy Set.

Here is the wonderful Case This Sketch that inspired my card layout:
