Layered Butterflies Thank You Cards

The graphic at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie inspired my card colors and shape (the pink thank you cookie resembles a butterfly to me.)  The Layered Butterfly Thin Cut Die is from Close to My Heart along with the pink and rose foil paper from the recently retired You Are Enough paper pack.  The Thanks sentiment is from Honey Bee Bitty Buzzwords.  The bottom card stock color is Sangria.

Here is the If You Give a Crafter a Cookie graphic that inspired my card:

I really liked my card design so I made another one in bluish green using a Pixie Sparkled panel with Glacier card stock on the bottom:

Which card do you like better?

I'm also entering these cards into the following challenges:

      Stamping Sensations--For a Lady

      Allsorts Challenge--Feminine/For a Lady

      Creative Knockouts--Dies/Punches

Addicted to Stamps and More #410--Die Cuts/Stencils

      Fab 'n Funky--Monochrome

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

Butterflies For You with Tuesday Morning Sketch #525

When I saw this fascinating sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches I thought of an underused retired Close to My Heart paper pack called Some Kind of Wonderful with its huge circles and bright colors.  I paired it with a current CTMH stamp set called Butterflies for You from the Every Little Thing Cardmaking Kit and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers.  The background color and sentiment color is Raspberry.

Here is the wonderful Tuesday Morning sketch that inspired my card layout:

Color Dare #334 With Tuesday Morning Sketch #495

There is a "pick 3 colors" (inspired by the Love of Color book) challenge for Color My Heart Color Dare #334 so I chose Lagoon, Peach and Gold.  Neutrals are free to use so I used Black and White also.  I used a Black Shin Han Touch Marker to outline the floral array before adhering it to the striped background.

I was intrigued by the current Tuesday Morning Sketch #495 and it was used as my card inspiration.

The following Close to My Heart products were used:
     Black CS
     Know That I Care stamps
     Lagoon Ink
     Peach Ink

Here is the color palette from the Color Dare challenge which is open until Thursday evening, March 28.

One of my March goals is to participate in ALL of the Heart 2 Heart challenges and this will be my third entry.  The theme is your favorite "Tools" so I will share with you that my favorite tool is my Xacto Paper Cutter.  It is a guillotine type cutter with a handy paper edge guide.  It is lightweight, travels well and makes accurate cuts. Having cut all those strips of patterned paper for the above card it was definitely a very useful tool!

I'm also entering my card into the following challenges:
     Crafting-With-Friends--Anything Goes
     Kitty Bee Designs--In the Garden
     Craft Rocket Designs--Flowers

There is a current promotion by Close to My Heart!  It's a "BOGO 50% off Paper Party" and you can find out about it here. (The pretty patterned paper from the above cards is available with this promotion).

Here is the fabulous Sketch Saturday challenge graphic that inspired my card layout:

Color Dare #285 Joins Freshly Made Sketch #329

It's time for another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge!  This fortnight we are inviting you to combine these fabulous Close to My Heart colors:  Raspberry, Pebble and Bashful.  Of course, if you don't have these exact Close to My Heart colors yet you may substitute similar colors so you can still play along.  Black and White are always free to use but please DO NOT ADD any new colors.  Our challenge lasts for two weeks (April 5) so you have plenty of time to join us.

My card features a Raspberry print from the Adventure Fundamentals paper packet, the lighter side of the Pebble card stock, Black card stock and Bashful Glitter paper.  A stitched circle die (Kat Scrappiness) was used to cut the patterned paper.  The greeting is from the Thoughtful Bird stamp set and was stamped in Raspberry Ink.

My card layout was inspired by this wonderful sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #329:

Color Dare #235--Dreamin' Big

Welcome back to another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge blog post!  This week we are featuring colors from the Close to My Heart Dreamin' Big paper pack.  There are 10 fabulous colors in this collection and we are challenging you to use at least 4 of them (excluding the neutrals) and without adding new colors.

My usual creative process for the Color Dare challenges involves finding a sketch challenge to use. This week I decided to feature some of the zip strips and thus came up with my very own card layout.

Close to My Heart products used:
     White Daisy CS
     Dreamin' Big paper pack
Dreamin' Big Cardmaking Bundle stamps and                     Thin Cuts
     Black CS
     Black Shin Han Touch Marker
     Slate Ink
     Whisper Ink
     Clear Shimmer Brush

Here is a tip to use when you want to "pop up" those diecut items (like my two butterflies above).  Use the Thin Cut dies to cut thin craft foam and then glue it to the bottom of the item and then to the card front!  It is much easier than cutting pieces of 3D Foam Tape to fit.

Here is the Color Dare Color Graphic--just click on it to get to check out what the rest of the fabulous Design Team has to inspire you.

Other challenges I'm linking this card to:
     Stampin' Royalty--Spring

     Cards in Envy--Keep it Simple
     Between the Folds--Dreamin' Big
Happy Little Stampers--Anything Goes with Dies

Something really nice happened to me last week and I'm offering some blog candy (craft supplies) to a lucky winner.  Please go to this blog post to read more.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #288--Fright Night

Welcome back to another Fantabulous Cricut Challenge blog post!  This fortnight we are challenging you to create something with a Halloween theme.  My card is a Double Dutch Fold card and has a variety of Cricut Halloween images in it.  I actually made two cards so I could photograph the outside of the card and the inside of the card in the same photo.

Here's a closeup of the outside of the card.  I used a length of novelty ribbon and stapled it together in the back of the card so it could be slipped on and off easily.

Here is a closeup of the card inside:

I found the basic card fold in Design Space in the Project Primrose Community shared by Georgia Carl.  She had originally created a baby card but I adapted it to be a Halloween card.  Here is the Design Space file I created to make this card.

Cricut cartridges used:  Creativebug (witch and cat), Celebrate With Flourish (witch and Jack o Lantern), Ultimate Creative Sampler (Dracula, Spider), Mini Monsters (Happy Halloween), CTMH Artbooking (Boo)

     Artbooking cricut cartridge
