Birthday Card with CAS(E) This Sketch #52

Here is a quick card I put together using CAS(E) This Sketch #52.  The cardstock is Close To My Heart Pacifica and the ink is Close To My Heart Indian Corn Blue.  The stamp is from the Cricut Artiste Collection and was trimmed to fit better on the card.   The embossing folder is from Goose Bumpz called Tide and was brayered with Indian Corn Blue Ink.  The greeting is popped up with 3D Foam Tape.

Here is the CAS(E) This Sketch model:

Gelato Stripes for Atlantic Hearts Sketch #28

Atlantic Hearts has another great sketch for us this week.  I was intrigued by the stripes and decided to use my new Gelatos once again.

This time I made colored stripes on watercolor paper and wet them with a paintbrush and layered it onto Black CS.  The greetings are from the Artiste Cricut Collection which has stamps to match the Cricut cuts-- they were stamped in Cranberry ink. The star embellishments are "Milepost Shapes" (recently retired from Close To My Heart).  Originally these stars are kraft colored however I gave them some color with the same Gelatos I used to create the background.  The birthday greetings and stars were popped up with 3D Foam Tape.  A pair of  Licorice Adhesive Gems adorn the Birthday Wishes banner. This was a fun challenge to undertake!

The challenge closes on Sunday, November 10.

Triple Banners for Sunday Stamps Sketch Challenge #62

Kathya has a great sketch for us this week at Sunday Stamps!

I turned it on its side to feature vertical banners--the truth is I needed a Thank You card and the stamp I chose looks better in a horizontal orientation.  I've been on a kick lately to use up some of my stash so I'm using Close To My Heart retired Mayberry and Victory with a Cranberry banner.  The frame is cut from the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge and is stamped with Frame Flair.  The greeting is A True Thank You.  The inks are Outdoor Denim and Cranberry and I used Honey and Goldrush markers.  The greeting is popped up with 3D Foam Tape.  This card was really quick to make.

We can't wait to see what you create using this sketch!   Please use a direct link to join us here and include a link back to us in your blog post.  (Feel free to post our sketch graphic too to let your readers know about our challenge.)

Please take the time to visit the rest of the Design Team's blogs and leave them some appreciation.

Gelato Background for Atlantic Hearts Sketch #27

Atlantic Hearts always offers a great sketch to follow and this week is no different.  Blues are my favorite colors and I love trying out new products so when I saw a set of Faber-Castell Gelatos in shades of blue I knew I'd have to have them.  They look like tubes of chapstick and have a waxy feel to them.  After you apply them you use some water and a paintbrush to blend them.

Before I applied the Gelatos to regular white CS I clear embossed 60 from the retired Close To My Heart Friendship Alphabet.  I used a heat gun to dry the paper and then used red liner tape to adhere it to a Moonstruck CS background.  The background panel is Heavenly Blue and the White Daisy strip was run through the Cuttlebug with a Darice Embossing Folder.  The ribbon is holographic curling ribbon that I bought for wrapping Christmas presents.

Polar Bear Holiday Fun for Color My Heart Color Dare #67

This week's challenge at Color My Heart Color Dare is to use Black, White and a pop of Green. Close To My Heart has so many wonderful greens to choose from!   Lagoon is one of my favorite Close To My Heart colors and I just had to use it here.  The card size is 5" x 6.5".

The stamp set is called Polar Bear Holiday and has several delightful images.  The background paper is from Sweetheart (retired CTMH). The frames and snowflakes were cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge. Opaques Pearl Adhesive Gems and Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel were used as embellishments. The greeting is popped up with 3D Foam Tape.

My card layout was inspired by Tuesday Morning Sketches although I rotated it to fit my image.

I'm also entering this card into Pile it on Challenge--use 2 embellishments and Use it Tuesdays which features Creatures this week.

We are looking forward to see what you can create using Black, White and a pop of Green.  We love Close To My Heart colors at the Color Dare, but if you don't have them yet, please play along and substitute similar colors.  Please join us by linking your blog post here.

Best Witches for Try Stampin' on Tuesday #142 and Use it Tuesdays Challenge #66

Happy Halloween! Here is a card made with all retired products from Close To My Heart.  I just love it when I can use of some of my vast stash! (a requirement for Use It Tuesday is to use your stash!) The stamped cat on the jack o' lantern is from an old wooden set called "Punkin' Patch" and the greeting is from another wooden set called "Best Witches".  Patterned papers are from the Hooligans and Spellbound paper packets.  Coloring was done with Prismacolor pencils (formerly carried by CTMH).  The stars and jack o' lantern mouth and nose were glittered with Glow in the Dark glitter glue.  The focal frames were cut from Art Philosophy--Square 3 at 3" and 3.25" from Black.  I used a steel pan scrubber and Gypsy ink to texturize the White Daisy CS.

This card follows the Try Stampin' on Tuesdays sketch #142 which is pictured here:

I'm also entering this card into the Use it Tuesdays Challenge #62 featuring "Creatures".  Please stop by tomorrow for a new Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge post.

Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

My card follows Unscripted Sketch #226 with Close To My Heart colors Autumn Terracotta, Chocolate and Lagoon.

The stamps are from Casual Expressions  and Happy Autumn stamp sets with Chocolate Ink,  Autumn Terracotta and Lagoon markers onto Colonial White CS.   After the background cardstock pieces were attached to the base it was run through the Cuttlebug machine with the pumpkin embossing folder.  The greeting panel is raised up with 3D Foam Tape.

Color Dare #65 with an Atlantic Hearts Sketch #25

Welcome back to another Color My Heart Color Dare post! This is a weekly challenge blog featuring Close To My Heart colors but you can substitute similar colors if needed. This week we are featuring the monochromatic colors of Crystal Blue and Twilight. (You may also combine them with neutrals such as white, black, colonial white and other colors from the Close To My Heart Basics color palette).

When I need inspiration to make a card I often check out the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog as I did this week. Instead of gears I used Art Philosophy cut snowflakes from the challenge colors--page 22 layer shift cut at 1.25", 1.5" and 1.34". The stripes were made with strips of Silver Shimmer Trim. The greeting is from Frosted Cardmaking Kit. The final touches were made by placing dots of Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel in the snowflake points and centers and popping up the greeting with 3D Foam Tape.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #25:

I'm also entering this card into the Merry Monday Challenge #79--Blue, White, Silver and Christmas.

Now it's your turn to use these fabulous colors together and share with us.  Please enter your direct link here.

Hexagon Shaped Card for Heart 2 Heart Challenge

Heart 2 Heart really challenges me to think outside the box with their numerous "theme" challenges.  This week both H2H Design Teams will be posting "Shaped Cards"--other than rectangular or square.

My card started with a 4.25" Colonial White hexagon cut from the new Artbooking cartridge.  I then used my Close To My Heart ruler to trace the shape adding .25 to all sides.  I scored on the top flat side and traced again to form a folded card base from Autumn Terracotta CS.  The Cranberry CS mat was cut at 4.5 from Artbooking.  The flowers are from the Autumn Happy set--first stamped in Cranberry ink and then stamped in Autumn Terracotta ink to fill in the "white" spaces.  The greeting is from Heartfelt Birthday Wish which was masked to allow the Washi Wonder stamp (Exclusive Hostess Reward--see page 6 of the catalog here) to fit under the birthday greeting.  Almond Glitz Glitter Gel was applied to the inside of the birthday letters.

The Color My Heart Color Dare challenge this week is to pick Cranberry and one other color so this card meets that challenge also.

We would love to have you play along with us at Heart 2 Heart with this Shaped Card challenge.  You have until the end of October to link your card up with us here.  We can't wait to see what you create!  Please check out what the rest of the awesome Design Team has for you and leave them so well deserved comments if you can.

Lil' Black Dress for H2H Challenges

If you are looking for the OWH Card Making Day Blog post please go here.

Welcome back to another H2H Challenge post!  "Little Black Dress" is the theme of this week's Heart 2 Heart challenge.  I had fun making this cute party dress from the Close To My Heart Artiste cartridge  on page 41 cut at 3.5 inches from Black and Grey Glitter Paper and Silver Metallic paper (retired CTMH) and layered the two papers.  The side panel was stamped in Cranberry Ink using the floral stamp from In the Background stamp set with the edges distressed with Black ink.  The base layer is Cranberry CS.  The greeting is from the Fanfare Workshop on the Go set (retired CTMH) and this piece was distressed with Cranberry ink before being placed on the Black Glitter paper and popped up using 3D Foam Tape.

How will YOU interpret this theme challenge?  We would love to have you join in on our challenge.  Please use a direct link to link your creation to Heart 2 Heart challenges--you have until the end of October to enter this challenge.

Throwing a Curve in for Sunday Stamps Sketch Challenge #60

Welcome back to another Sunday Stamps Sketch Challenge--designed by yours truly this time!

My card uses Close To My Heart products:
For Always paper
Paradise Flowers (retired)
Shimmer Brads by Making Memories

I could have used the CTMH Art Philosophy, Artiste or Artbooking Cricut cartridges to make my flowers but the Paradise Flowers were already made and came in great colors.    I hand drew the curved line and added some marker to it.
