Birthday Card with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #549

 Welcome back to another Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog post!  This week our sketch features a split vertical card layout with a center focus panel and small embellishment on the lower right hand corner.  My card features Grateful Hearts Paper (retired Close to my Heart) and It's Your Birthday sentiment and accent stamp.

Baby Boy Christening Card with Atlantic Hearts Sketch #548

Thank You Card Using Scraps with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #547

Welcome back to another Atlantic HeartsSketch Challenge blog post!  This week our sketch features a vertical layout with thin scraps and a sentiment placed on the diagonal.  My card features paper scraps from two recent cards.  (I used up a lot of retired Close to my Heart products including Mayberry, Olivia and Victory paper packs along with Cashmere, Pepperwood, Cranberry and Autumn Terracotta card stock papers.)

Black Eyed Susan Sympathy Card with Atlantic Hearts Sketch #525

 Welcome back to another Atlantic HeartsSketch Challenge blog post!  This week our sketch features a double matted vertical panel with a top corner sentiment, large floral display and a ribbon bow.  My card's floral diecut is from Simon Says Stamp called "Black Eyed Susan" which was colored with Twinkling H2O paints (Mallard Green and Celestial Sun).  The flower centers were colored with an  Espreso Shimmer Brush.

Pet Sympathy Card with Tuesday Morning Sketch #724

 A dear friend lost her beloved companion so I made her this special card.  I looked at photos to match the dog's coloring with colored pencils.  The paper is from Chelsea Garden (retired Close to my Heart) and the stamp sets are Paw Prints on Your Heart and Words of Comfort (also retired Close to my Heart).

Chelsea Gardens Get Well Card with Try Stampin' on Tuesday #622

 One of my friends just had ankle surgery so I made him a card following Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch #622.  The background paper and strips are retired from Close to my Heart "Chelsea Gardens" and the cardstock mats are Glacier cardstock.  The bandaid is from retired Close to my Heart "Under the Weather" and the greeting is from  retired Close to my Heart "Get Well Soon".

Mouse Fan Birthday Card with Freshly Made Sketch #601

Our granddaughter just celebrated her 2nd birthday so I made her a card with a favorite character.  The Mickey Mouse embossing folder is from Cuttlebug and the paper strips are from "Happiest Place" (retired Close to my Heart).

Daisy Thank You Card with Freshly Made Sketch #600

Congratulations to the Design Team at Freshly Made Sketches!  They are celebrating the milestone of having provided 600 fabulous sketches.  This is one of my favorite sketch challenges and I play along as often as time permits.

I'm still making daisy themed thank you cards and this sketch worked perfectly for an extra cricut cut daisy that was sitting on my desk.  The embossed background was made with an old Cuttlebug embossing folder called "Juli's Garden".

Daisy Themed Thank You Card with Atlantic Hearts Sketch #537

 Welcome back to another Atlantic HeartsSketch Challenge blog post!  This week our sketch features a background panel with a grid, various inner elements and a sentiment panel.  My card background grid was cut with an older Close to my Heart Stitched Rectangle Frame Thin Cut die which had 12 squares.  I cut some of the cross pieces to create a similar grid to our challenge graphic.  The small daisy stamp came from the Friendship Daisy stamp set.  The sentiment is from "You Got This" stamp set (Close to my Heart--about 5 years old) and the center panel is a piece of recycled ribbon.

Slimline Get Well Card with Atlantic Hearts Sketch #535

Playing with Lunar and Solar Paste with Freshly Made Sketch #595

Recently I purchased a few jars of Simon Hurley's Lunar Paste and Solar Paste and used them with Close to my Hearts' Sprigs and Leaves Embossing Folder and Stencils to create this card.  First I stenciled Fake Plant Solar Paste for green leaves and Golden Hour Solar Paste for small leaves and shading on Sage Card Stock.  The pastes were applied with a foam applicator brush.  Next I used the Embossing folder to create even more texture.  Gold metallic card stock was used to mat the focal circle and leaf panel.

This second photo was taken with a different angle so that the shiny metallic gold could be featured.
