Guest Designing for Heart's Quest Celebration of Love Challenge #8

Several weeks ago I created a wedding card and entered it into a relatively new challenge called Heart's Quest Celebration of Love. My card was selected as a top pick and I was invited to be a Guest Designer for Challenge #8.  How exciting for me!

My sparkly card features a very old wooden Close to my Heart stamp which was embossed with Black Tinsel embossing powder. It was layered over a Black Shimmer paper and then Gold Foil.  The gold foil bottom border was cut from a sheet of "Marsh Flower" Recollections paper.  This elegant card came together very quickly!

Here is another photograph showing how sparkly this card is under light.

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:

     Simon Says Wednesday Challenge--Anything Goes

Lil Patch of Crafty Friends--Anything Goes

Washi Tape Birds Birthday Card with Atlantic Hearts Sketch #585

Welcome back to another Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog post!  This week our sketch features a vertical layout with 3 focal points, several layers and a centered sentiment panel.  As our card sketches are a starting point to spark our creativity I chose oval panels instead of flowers and moved the sentiment panel up from its centered sketch position.  I recently purchased some P.E.T. washi tape from The Washi Tape store and used 3 beautiful birds from "Spring Serenade" over a glossy patterned piece of backing for a very old Cuttlebug die.  The papers are from an older Recollections paper pack called "Essentials Distressed " and the sentiment is from "Dragonfly Wishes" by Close to my Heart stamped in Bluebird Ink.

This photo shows more of the shininess of the P.E.T. washi tape and the background panels.

Here is our fabulous sketch that inspired my card layout and for you to try.  Our challenge is open until Sunday evening, July 14 and you can link up your project here.  We look forward to visiting your blogs and leaving some bloggy comment love. Wedding Card with Freshly Made Sketch #641

This week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches appealed to me so I used it to make a wedding card for my nephew and his bride.  I combined stamping, marker coloring, embossing, die cutting and foiling to create this card.

Here is another view so you can see how shiny the foiled sentiment is:

Golden Anniversary Cards with Atlantic Hearts Sketch #581

Welcome back to another Atlantic HeartsSketch Challenge blog post!  This week our sketch features a vertical layout with a vertical banner, rectangle background, horizontal stripe, round frame and sentiment.  Two of my couple friends are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and this sketch worked very well to highlight that accomplishment.  The first card follows the sketch more closely and the second one has a slight variation of sentiment placement.

Which card do you like better?

Thinking of You Cards with Paper Craft Crew Challenge #573

I liked the sketch at Paper Craft Crew this week and found time to play along using Journey paper (Close to my Heart) and Holographic paper (Recollections).  The sentiment stamp is a very old wooden stamp from Close to my Heart.  Journey gems were used for embellishments.  Since I was making an angled cut I stacked to sheets of card stock and made 2 similar cards.

Which card do you like better?

Paper Striped Birthday Card with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #279

Welcome back to another Atlantic HeartsSketch Challenge blog post!  This week our sketch features a herringbone pattern of strips with a sentiment and some embellishments.  I wanted to make this an easy project so I started with a paper pack (Close to my Heart Mix-in from 2019) that had "zip strips" at the top.  I cut an extra 1/2" with each strip so there were fewer strips to assemble on my card.

I made a second card by using diagonally striped patterned paper (No Worries from Close to my Heart several years ago) with a vertical layout.  Which card do you like better?

Masculine Birthday Card with Freshly Made Sketch #634

When I saw this interesting sketch at Freshly Made Sketches I knew I had to find time to play along.  I pulled out a favorite Recollections paper pack called "Ink Splatter" and an older Close to my Heart stamp set called "Sunny Thoughts" (February 2018 Stamp of the Month).  The sentiment was embossed with Cobalt Tapestry Embossing Powder (Personal Stamp Exchange).  Thin slivers of Silver Foil paper framed the sentiment while Midnight Blue Nuvo Crystal Drops added some more shimmer to the card.  Here is my card:
