Two Butterfly Birthday Cards with Atlantic Hearts Sketch #621

Welcome back to another Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog post!  This week our sketch features a vertical layout with a flurry of shapes on the right side and bottom along with a sentiment and 3 small embellishments below it.  I've been playing with some Lisa Horton shimmery Interference and Metallic inks so I made two different cards.  The background panels were inked with either Ultraviolet Metallic or Cherry Bomb Interference ink.  The other colors used were Sunshine and Lovestruck Metallic Inks, Golden Sun and Ripe Mango Interference inks.  The birthday sentiment is from Close to my Heart Sweetest Birthday Wishes. The small butterflies came from various stamp sets.  (There were a few over inked acrylic block edges on the red bordered card so a few small gold dragonflies were added to cover them up.)

Which card do you like better?

Hello Cards with Freshly Made Sketch #676

The other day I spent some time putting package tape over daisies in patterned paper (to give it a shiny look) and fussy cutting them while I was watching TV.  When I saw this week's Freshly Made Sketch I knew how I would use them.  Since I had cut out a lot of daisies I made 2 cards.  The yellow patterned paper and raspberry mats are from a very old Close to my Heart paper pack called "Happy Times" and the orange paper is CTMH Melon card stock.  The sentiment is white embossed and diecut from a CTMH stamp and die set called "All the Best Wishes".

Which one do you like better?

In the single photos you can see more clearly the shine that these daisies have:

Slimline Birthday Card with Atlantic Hearts Sketch #619

Welcome back to another Atlantic HeartsSketch Challenge blog post!  This week our sketch features a striped horizontal layout with a large sentiment banner and an overlapping embellishment.  My cardmaking process began by going through my paper stash and finding diagonally striped paper for my base. The striped paper came from Close to my Heart's Chelsea Gardens.  I used Journey and Glacier card stocks to complete the color coordination.  The sentiment was cut with a CTMH Thin Cut Die called Happy Birthday from Scrapbook.com's Holographic Mirror Paper.  The cute bird accent is from a Crafter's Square (Dollar Tree) Puffy Sticker set.

Here is our fabulous sketch that inspired my card layout and for you to try.  Our challenge is open until Sunday evening, March 9 and you can link up your project here.  We look forward to visiting your blogs and leaving some bloggy comment love. Please stop by our blog on Wednesday to see what the rest of the talented Design Team has to inspire you.

I’m also entering this card into the following challenges:

Crafter's Cafe #316--Anything Goes with option of spots or stripes

Triple B March--Birds, Blooms or Butterflies

     AAA Birthday #71--Masculine

A Cut Above March--Anything with a Die Cut

     Seize the Birthday #300--No Stamping

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!
